Very OOC, amateurish writing.
I drew the cover myself, so please ignore the ugly lettering.
You're one of the countless homeless kids in Gotham. The only unusual thing about you is that you're the leader of the homeless kids. Every kid in Crime Alley knows your name, but you consider yourself a model child who never does anything criminal. Your biggest worry every day is where to get (steal) food.
One day, you get your hands on some alien technology. You wonder if your Batman life is finally about to begin, or maybe you could become Robin. You can't wait.
The bad news: It's just an alien gig-work System.
The worse news: You've been chosen as a new user, and your login reward is a duck outfit.
Bored, you fiddle with the System and discover it's a job simulator. You can take jobs from it to earn tokens, which you can spend on items in the shop.
The shop has things like Batman business cards, the Riddler's trophies, Joker masks, battle-damaged Red Hood photos, and mugs printed with the Bat symbol.
You curse the useless junk, but soon you spot some new products.
Rock-Roasted Mountain Delicacies Skewers, canned Happy Water, a hundred-layer sundae (zero calories), Dreamy Crispy Cones, Cat Cake (Bat version), and more.
You stare at them, drooling, and immediately start taking jobs.
[Five hundred meters ahead: a perverted, monstrous professor who kidnaps people. Suggestion: a handy weapon is important.]
Unbelievable! How dare someone run wild in your territory in broad daylight? You leap to your feet, grab the brick beside you, and decide to give him a taste of home.
You defeated [Professor Pyg].
As a beginner's reward, you receive an alien senior's baseball bat (a replica of Jianmu). Its description reads: [This is a legendary baseball bat (commemorative edition), a great partner for exploration. It can't rampage like the original, but it'll keep you warm all winter if you use it as firewood. You can also try it out for something new. Rules are made to be broken, after all.]
You: What a great find!
From then on, another... duck-shaped shadow appeared in Gotham's night sky.
You take jobs constantly, and your reputation gradually spreads throughout Gotham. Whenever you come up, every creature you've ever taught a lesson reflexively covers its head. The people of Gotham affectionately call you the [Duck Knight].
You become Gotham's new generation of you-know-who.
You also manage to enjoy a wonderful life of Qiongshi Bird Skewer on Monday, Lotus Root Cake on Tuesday, Immortal's Joy Tea on Wednesday, and so on.
You're perfectly satisfied.
One day, after complaining once again that the artificial idiot only makes you do all the work, you discover the System has updated its character pool. They're only projections of [memories], but at least now you have people to do the work for you.
Beginner's benefit pool: [Tyrant (Damian al Ghul)]
The heroine is swan-coded (the outfit is a swan, but the little one looks a lot like a duck).
Her official codename is [Apocalypse] (The Tap, meaning to hit, though Gotham people all call her the Duck Knight or the Knight).
Inspired by that gig-work commercial on Douyin. It killed me laughing, everyone should go watch it.
If you aren't adopted, you'll become Gotham's wildest legend.
The characters are OOC, and daily life is the main focus. There'll be Honkai: Star Rail events and such, like the Origami Bird (this time it really becomes a Robin bird) and Cat Cake (Bat-bird version).
The timeline is chaotic, and there are lots of original settings.
You can think of the System as something the Aeons set up for fun. It was originally supposed to be a new event for the Trailblazer, but a glitch sent it to Gotham (very slapdash). I don't currently plan to include Honkai: Star Rail characters, so I haven't tagged it (there'll be a limited five-star Trailblazer in a bonus chapter).
I originally planned to make the weapon a brick. Calling her Brick Knight was just too funny. Then I thought about how bricks are ranged weapons, and having to throw one every time she worked would make the fights unsatisfying. Most importantly, I really love the Trailblazer's bat and her title, Galaxy Bat Hero. It's so cool, so I want one too (hey!).
Of course, I won't give up on the brick either. It's an important partner to the protagonist, after all!
