The Entire Cultivation World Ships Me with Myself

After Xie Huichuan died, he was bound to a resurrection System.

The System told him that if he made himself famous throughout the cultivation world, he'd be revived on the spot once his energy gauge was full.

Xie Huichuan agreed.

But when he opened his eyes, he found himself back in the hometown where he'd died in battle, and his nemesis was treating his corpse as a trophy.

His former friends, furious and grief-stricken, vowed to reclaim Lingjue's remains. Xie Huichuan knew they were no match for his nemesis, so he hurriedly revealed himself to stop them and said in a low voice, "He… would never want you to risk your lives for him."

"I'll bring him back myself. Otherwise, the Great Dao will be forever beyond my reach, and my spirit will be destroyed!"

Later.

As Xie Huichuan guarded the corpse he'd fought to reclaim, he slew prodigies with his sword, saved the people through blood and battle, and made his name known throughout the world.

The whole world admired him and urged him to let go. But everyone knew that Xie Huichuan had eyes for only one person: the long-deceased "Immortal Venerable Lingjue."

Xie Huichuan, holding his own corpse, faces a cultivation world that's misunderstood him this badly: ?

How am I supposed to explain that I just want to come back to life, and I'm not a corpse fetishist?
