A melodramatic switched-at-birth plot landed on Shen Xing, who had been raised as a young master for twenty years. He was stunned for half a second, then calmly accepted it, packed his things, and prepared to leave.
As he dragged his suitcase down the steps, the familiar dull ache in his chest returned. His hand went slack, and the suitcase fell into someone else's grasp. His head hit a rock-hard chest, and the man hastily steadied him.
"Are you okay?"
The person he'd collided with was Song Qi, the young master who had just been brought back to the family. Shen Xing looked at Song Qi with a slight frown, not because he disliked him, but because he'd never seen such an honest-looking blockhead in his life. He couldn't help thinking that a big guy as solid as a brick like this would be eaten alive by the Shen family's illegitimate children and stepmothers.
Song Qi also frowned slightly at Shen Xing. He'd never seen anyone so pale, as if a breeze could knock him over. And he had a heart condition. Could someone that frail live alone?
Shen Xing moved into a rundown apartment complex. The days when he had everything handed to him were over, and he was forced to fend for himself. Just as everything was falling apart, someone knocked on his door. Outside stood Song Qi, towering over him with a heap of meat and vegetables in hand, still wearing his suit.
Then Shen Xing watched as the guy walked in like he owned the place, took off his suit, rolled up his sleeves, sorted the groceries into the fridge, and rushed into the kitchen. He whipped up four dishes and a soup. Wait, had this guy got the wrong apartment?
"I didn't hire a housekeeper."
"I don't want money. Mom and Dad treated me well, and they're your parents now too. They're gone, so it's my responsibility to take care of you."
From that day on, Mr. Responsibility really did take responsibility, coming to Shen Xing's place after work to play the part of a live-in househusband.
"I made some meat stew. If you don't feel like cooking at lunchtime, just heat it up. There are steamed buns underneath. I just made them. I'll make your favorite chicken wings after work tomorrow."
Shen Xing once again went back to having food brought right to him. He felt a little guilty about taking advantage of the big blockhead, but his cooking really was delicious. At last, he couldn't help giving him some advice: try to win a minor subsidiary, or someone will take advantage of you and ruin you.
And so Song Qi used a liver transplant to outmaneuver the old man and smoothly take control of the shares. He kept playing the big blockhead in Shen Xing's eyes, all naive and easy to cheat, while secretly enjoying comforting hugs from his beloved.
Meanwhile, Shen Xing, who was making a fortune in the stock market, had no choice but to add that blockhead to his future plans. If he failed to get anything for himself, he could always have him work for him.
P.S. A top who seems as solid as a brick but is actually a black-hearted schemer x a bottom who starts out destitute and later becomes a financial magnate.
They both see each other through a filter magnified 180 times.
