The climate is brutal, the monsters vicious, and supplies scarce. Just as the people exiled here think they're about to die in this endless blizzard...
A caravan bearing the flag of a plump little bumblebee slowly comes into view across the vast, snowy plain.
The little insect queen has a hive mind and has spent so long communicating with her swarm telepathically that her language skills are terrible. She's also socially anxious: "...Mine, good things, sell. You, money have?"
The cargo display unfolds:
from steaming roasted sweet potatoes, rich pork-bone ramen, and soft, sweet red bean rice cakes,
to strong liquor brewed from star-grade crops and honey salve that heals frostbite,
then on to cold-weather coats set with heat crystals and warm charms made with insect technology...
The dazzling array of goods leaves everyone speechless. Once they come to their senses, the people rush to buy: "Mine, money have! I have money!"
Insect queen setting! This is not a matriarchal insect society.
*The protagonist is a fluffy mechanical bumblebee. She will have a beautiful human-like form, but she's still an insect!
