Back to 1997

An everyday story of family life and small domestic dramas. The characters are actual elementary school students. A slow burn, with the male lead appearing late.

Xiao Wangshu died in her own home, in her own bed.

She used to think this was the best ending she could have asked for, with no unfinished obligations and nothing left to worry about.

But after a long stretch of darkness, Xiao Wangshu woke up again and found herself back in the summer of 1997.

She looked at the dazzling sunlight outside the window and listened to the cicadas. Outside her bedroom, her grandmother was telling the elementary school students eating lunch at home to pay attention in class that afternoon. Tears instantly filled her eyes. It turned out she had missed them so much.

Given another chance at life, Xiao Wangshu didn't aspire to much. She just wanted to help her parents make a better future for themselves.

She would encourage them to tell her sooner that they'd divorced long ago, and to pursue the things they wanted while they were still young, and love the people they wanted to love.

And as for herself, this time she was determined to go farther.
