My daily novel, Everyday Life in the Ming Dynasty, is now underway.
Upcoming novels: Married to a Minor Banner Official (Qing Dynasty) and Farming in the Apocalypse.
There are upcoming novels in my collection: Back to the Seventies: A Cannon Fodder Finds Love, Farming in the Apocalypse, The Splendid Dynasty, and Meeting Spring Again (Married After Coming Down the Mountain). The synopsis for the last one is below. I’ll start building up a stock of chapters after the New Year, so please add them to your collection!
The first thing He Jia did after transmigrating to the grasslands of the Qing dynasty was eat a serving of lamb that was supposedly not gamey at all, but instead had a milky fragrance.
From then on, the daughter of Prince Jun Uljing Galapu, whom everyone had always said was too delicate to survive, became the most distinctive sight on the grasslands.
Her catchphrases: “What’s this? Can you eat it? Would it taste good cooked this way?”
She had died of illness in her previous life, so this life was a free bonus. He Jia vowed never to shortchange herself, even if she was living on the grasslands hundreds of years ago. She could be her own boss.
But who could have guessed that, through a strange turn of fate, He Jia of the Borjigit clan would go from being a prince’s daughter to the unlucky one who had to marry the Tenth Prince?
The struggle among the Nine Princes, which she’d thought was a hundred thousand li away, suddenly became an inescapable pitfall in her life.
Her only consolation was that her future husband was well-born and had powerful backing, so even the Fourth Master left him alive.
Believing that a bad life is better than no life at all, He Jia decides that marrying the legendary dim-witted Tenth Prince might not be so bad.
But there’s one problem: she has to survive the struggle among the Nine Princes and secure a place for herself in this bloodless battle.
Is the Tenth Prince really a dimwit? He’s the loser who survived, and his name is so hard to type that he can’t even have his own name on Green River Literature.
[Highlights]
1. A Qing palace novel, not a pure-love story. The leads gradually grow closer in body and heart, understanding and relying on each other.
2. An age-gap romance in the Qing dynasty: the female lead is a little over a year older than the male lead.
3. Side plots feature Yin You, Yin Zhi, and other obscure figures from the period of the struggle among the Nine Princes.
4. Many fictional details. Please don’t obsess over historical accuracy.
My collection also has completed novels such as Eldest Daughter and The Seventh Fujin of the Qing Dynasty. Please add them to your collection!
Upcoming novel: Everyday Life in the Ming Dynasty
[Love grows over time, with a focus on everyday life. The heart of the story is the female lead making a good life for herself.]
Xie Jiujiu is the eldest child in her family. Her father gave her that name solely because he hoped to have nine more children.
Unfortunately, Old Xie wanted more children than he had the strength for. Before he died, all he left Xie Jiujiu was a sickly younger brother and a little sister with a runny nose.
Her widowed mother is strong-willed but easily swayed, and can’t protect the family business her father spent his life building.
Xie Jiujiu has to take her own birth details to the matchmaker.
“I want a tough, sharp-tongued man who’ll fight to the death when he’s wronged and isn’t afraid to risk his life!”
The matchmaker is dazzled by Xie Jiujiu’s fee and finds her Pei Yuan, the city’s most notorious down-and-out fellow.
Pei Yuan was born to a concubine. It wasn’t until his great-uncle from a collateral branch of the Pei family had no heirs that he was selected to be adopted. His great-uncle even gave up the family’s only hereditary military post for him.
Pei Yuan is stuck with a huge mansion he can’t sell but can’t afford to maintain. He earns less in a year than it costs to repair the place.
In the depths of winter, he can only keep warm by shivering. When his great-uncle dies, he can’t even scrape together enough money for a coffin, so he grits his teeth, sells himself, and becomes the Xie family’s live-in son-in-law!
Love grows over time, and the characters mature.
The male lead is a live-in son-in-law from beginning to end.
Synopsis for the upcoming novel Meeting Spring Again:
Being alive means there’s hope. In a new life, every choice is just a means to an end.
The female lead is independent and strong. The male lead is self-respecting and self-reliant.
Wen Jiujiu was born into a martial arts family with three generations of only children. Unfortunately, her father died in an accident.
Raised as a delicate young lady, Wen Jiujiu suddenly became a juicy piece of meat surrounded by wolves.
Her family’s collateral relatives and other martial arts sects were all waiting to strip the family of its wealth. The heroes and chivalry from the stories were nowhere to be seen.
Driven to the end of her rope, Jiujiu could only listen to her mother and marry the concubine-born son of the prefect, taking the Wen family fortune with her.
Only after marrying him did she learn she had escaped one den of wolves only to enter another.
The promise that their second son would take the Wen surname and inherit the Wen family business came to nothing.
After the wedding, her husband looked down on her for being from the martial world rather than an official’s family, and took several high-ranking concubines.
In the end, she lost her life and couldn’t even protect her children.
Reborn, Wen Jiujiu tries to save her father, but she’s too late. Staying alive is now the most important thing.
After much thought, she finally makes up her mind, gathers her dowry, comes down the mountain, and finds herself a husband.
This time, Wen Jiujiu is clever. She carefully chooses a newly arrived assistant general at the Jiangzhou military camp.
He has a broad back, a narrow waist, and a tall, straight figure, but he looks fierce. He always wears a stern expression, and no one has ever seen him smile.
They say he came from the capital, where his entire family died, and that he came out here to find work.
He’s already twenty-five and unmarried. It seems he has some hidden illness and may not live long.
After thinking it over, Wen Jiujiu decides that a man with a hard fate, no family, and no one but himself is the best match for her. So she brings a matchmaker and blocks his door to demand marriage.
Jiang Yun Zhao, the young master of an earl’s mansion, was sent out of the capital by his uncle, Prince Duan, to gain experience. He was promised a bright future when he returned to the capital three years later.
But before that future could materialize, Wen Jiujiu showed up at his door.
Jiang Yun Zhao: Who said I didn’t have a father or mother?
Who said I was sick and wouldn’t live long?
Who said nobody wanted me?
What? She’ll only marry me if I’m all those things? Then I suppose I’ll have to inconvenience my parents for a little while.
Theme: Live positively and face life head-on
Compared with the previous Five, Seven, and Nine Fortunes, the writing style of this Ten Fortunes is more delicate and emotional, and the emotions are eloquently expressed. It is a very good Qingchuan novel, and each has a happy ending.
I've finished reading it. It's beautiful. I've read so many clear chapters. Everyone in this book is perfect. It's an ideal but not exaggerated beauty.
