A lustful, life-loving, silly beauty X a master of disguise, vengeful and scheming emperor
*
Overworked office drone Yu Shu suddenly dies and wakes up inside an ancient political intrigue novel.
The book is about a villainous male lead who starts out as a low-ranking prince, carefully plots his way to power, defeats the great villain led by the regent, and ultimately takes the throne.
The male lead is skilled at disguising himself, holds grudges over the smallest things, is ruthless and cruel, and deeply paranoid. He'd rather kill an innocent than let a guilty person go. Readers like Yu Shu all agree: this villainous vibe is so satisfying!
But now Yu Shu has become the only son of the book's biggest villain, the regent--
and also the cannon fodder who will be the male lead's first beheading victim.
Yu Shu: ...Haha ^ ^ This is even more exciting.
The plot is already close to the part where he's due to die, so Yu Shu decides to enjoy himself while he still can.
So, on his way out of the capital, he forcibly abducts a man.
The man looks frail and suffers from a cough. He's a refined young gentleman, full of scholarly charm. Yu Shu thinks he's gorgeous, so he kidnaps him back to the prince's residence to be his male lover.
At the same time, he recruits eighteen other handsome men to attend to him.
Even if he's going to die, he might as well die happy :)

The man's name is Xie Tingzhou, and he's a scholar on his way to take the imperial examinations.
He's not only handsome and talented, but also gentle and considerate.
Everything about him is perfect, except that his size isn't quite right. It'd be even better if he were gentler in bed, too.
Yu Shu is very pleased. In return, he occasionally shares some hidden information from the book, so the scholar won't accidentally cross the male lead later and get his head chopped off:
"The crown prince is cruel and vicious. He killed all five of his brothers."
"The crown prince has a hidden ailment. He was locked in a palace as a child, leaving him with a deep-seated fear of storms, so he gets irritable and likes to kill people when it rains and thunders."
"The crown prince was unloved by his parents as a child and grew up being bullied. He's petty and deeply calculating. He may not show it, but he never forgets a grudge, and he'll get his revenge even ten years later."
Seeing Xie Tingzhou's eyes brighten with a smile after hearing these things, Yu Shu thinks he's truly a good person.
How could he not be? He's about to die himself, yet he's still thinking of others!
-
So, when the plot reaches the point where Yu Shu is about to bite the dust, he dismisses everyone and chooses to fake his death, escape, and live under an assumed name.
He never expected to see Xie Tingzhou again. After the male lead ascends the throne, Xie Tingzhou is in the emperor's southern inspection party, and has clearly risen to a high position.
When they reunite, their positions are reversed. To bribe Xie Tingzhou into keeping his identity secret, Yu Shu is forced to offer himself. He doesn't exactly mind, but he discovers that Xie Tingzhou has learned so many new tricks in the year they've been apart that Yu Shu blushes scarlet--
Even if the male lead doesn't catch him and chop off his head, Xie Tingzhou is going to play him to pieces.
So Yu Shu clutches his lower back and keeps running. But he hasn't gotten far before guards surround him.
Someone cries out that the emperor has arrived. Yu Shu looks up in terror, only to see a familiar figure approaching. The two of them had just parted in bed an hour ago.
Yu Shu: ??? Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling?
Xie Tingzhou bends down, slips his fingers between Yu Shu's lips, forcing him to whimper as they play together. He smiles, but his voice is colder than ice:
"Didn't you say I was petty and held grudges over the smallest things?"
"So, how should I punish you for running away this time? Hmm?"
