The Little Fox Beta X the Seemingly Aloof but Actually Dark Enigma
*
Lin Yuran, twenty-four, a Beta, and an ordinary office worker.
Who could have guessed that one day he would be told he was the real young master of the wealthy Jiang family, who had been lost outside the family?
He thought the Jiang family had brought him back to make amends for their mistake. Instead, his biological parents casually handed him a marriage contract and told him to marry in someone else’s place.
His marriage partner was an Enigma, the eldest son of the Lou family: mysterious and ruthless, but afflicted with pheromone mania. He was cold and domineering, and both his legs were disabled.
The fake Omega young master who had usurped his place was spoiled and willful and refused to marry, so the Jiang family had finally tracked down Lin Yuran, a Beta.
As compensation, the Jiang family would give him a large sum of money to pay for his adoptive parents’ medical treatment.
Lin Yuran let out a cold laugh, but gladly agreed. It was just a ride-share wedding stand-in gig. Easy enough!
Pheromone mania? He was a Beta, so he couldn’t even smell pheromones!
And his legs were disabled? Then he wouldn’t be able to catch up if Lin Yuran ran away!
He knew the Enigma he was marrying was only honoring the engagement because of pressure from his elders.
Before the wedding, he and Lou Huainian
made three rules: Lin Yuran would obediently play the part of a proper, dignified wife; after they married, they would stay out of each other’s affairs; and the marriage would last two years, after which they would part amicably.
After the wedding, Lin Yuran did his very best. He learned leg massages for Lou Huainian, studied how to cook food to his taste, and gently soothed and cared for him whenever his pheromone mania flared up.
He had originally planned to run away as soon as his adoptive parents recovered, but seeing that Lou Huainian didn’t seem as frightening as the rumors claimed, he decided they could end things on good terms when their marriage was over.
Until one day, the Enigma’s rut hit, and he pounced on Lin Yuran, pinning him to the bed
The tall Enigma’s voice was hoarse. Sweat soaked his shirt, revealing his perfect waist and abdomen. “You said you would be a ‘proper wife.’”
That night, Lin Yuran begged for mercy through his tears again and again, while the Enigma bit the back of his neck over and over, trying to inject his pheromones, even though there was no gland there at all.
Early the next morning, Lin Yuran covered the bruises on the back of his neck and ran away.
*The gong’s perspective
The first time he saw that Beta, Lin Yuran was giving a presentation at the company. His eyes were lively, and he spoke with unstoppable force. So when Lin Yuran approached him to discuss a marriage arrangement, for some inexplicable reason, he didn’t refuse.
Lin Yuran played his role exceptionally well. It was just that, little by little, he grew dissatisfied with it being only a performance. He wanted to make everything real.
Mark him, mark him, mark him… A voice inside him kept clamoring, but the other man was a Beta whom no one could mark.
All he could do was sneak into Lin Yuran’s room time and time again after he had fallen asleep, obsessively covering him from head to toe with his pheromones.
After losing control during a rut, Lin Yuran ran away.
Lou Huainian went out and brought him back himself.
In the underground room, Lou Huainian gazed at Lin Yuran’s sleeping face with rapt devotion and murmured close to his ear:
“From now on, stay by my side forever.”

Naturally Flirtatious Straight Guy X Sharp-Tongued Young Master Who Falls Hard
*
Lin Yiyan was badly in need of money. When he saw an online ad for a young master looking for a live-in study companion, with room and board included and a monthly salary of fifty thousand, he applied at once.
He was called to a group interview at a villa. The applicants took turns introducing themselves, each showing off a range of talents.
When his turn came, he was at a loss for words. Looking at Xie Xu’s handsome face, he blurted out:
“Young Master, you’re really good-looking.”
Everyone laughed at him, but Xie Xu only glanced at him without saying a word.
Everyone assumed Lin Yiyan had no chance, but in the end, he was the one who got picked.
His friends teased Xie Xu for choosing someone like him. Xie Xu looked away and said indifferently, “I just wanted someone dumb. Less trouble.”
-
Lin Yiyan became Xie Xu’s study companion and worked diligently for the money. When he learned that doing a good job could earn him extra bonuses, he put in twice the effort. He held an umbrella to meet Xie Xu after class in a rainstorm; when Xie Xu’s stomach condition flared up, he warmed him with his own body; and when Xie Xu went to a bar with his friends, he stood guard to make sure no danger got close…
Gradually, Xie Xu began looking at him differently.
At first, Xie Xu thought Lin Yiyan was just a blockhead.
He was clumsy and only ever did pointless, idiotic things. He was always making mistakes that Xie Xu had to fix. He was completely useless.
But later, when he was sick and saw Lin Yiyan anxiously crawling into his blankets to warm him with his body heat, he thought, Well, maybe this blockhead is useful after all.
After giving it serious thought, he decided that since this little study companion had done so much for him outside the scope of his job, and kept saying he was the most handsome, Lin Yiyan must like him.
Well… Since the other guy liked him so much, he didn’t mind being a little nicer to him.
A friend called Xie Xu and invited him out.
Xie Xu glanced at the little study companion, who was bent over writing a paper.
“I’m not going. I’m helping Lin Yiyan with his paper.”
His friend: “??? Wait, which one of you is the study companion?”
The corner of Xie Xu’s mouth lifted. He sounded disdainful, but was actually smugly showing off: “You wouldn’t understand. He’s so dumb. If I went out, he’d cry because he couldn’t finish writing it.”
-
Xie Xu had always believed Lin Yiyan fell in love with him at first sight. Then one day, Xie Xu’s older brother came over, and Lin Yiyan praised him with the very same words he had used when they first met.
Xie Xu froze. The next moment, overcome by jealousy, he dragged Lin Yiyan back to his room and pressed his lips against his, kissing him slowly and insistently. Glaring at him, he demanded furiously:
“Didn’t you say I was the most handsome? How was flirting with me not enough? Now you want to flirt with other men too?”
Lin Yiyan’s lips were kissed until they were swollen, a silvery thread stretching suggestively between them.
He stared blankly at Xie Xu, confused. “Flirting with men? What do you mean…? I’m straight, Young Master.”
