Synopsis
After transmigrating into a xianxia world as a little fox demon, Yu Zhi worked hard at cultivation, diligently and conscientiously, until he finally took human form.
He didn't seek immortality or vie for a place on the path to ascension. He only wanted to claim a mountain and be its king, with enough food and drink to live in peace for a hundred or so years. Yu Zhi's ambitions were simple and modest.
But everything changed that day. Several disciples in white robes with wide sleeves and swords stormed the humble den Yu Zhi had worked so hard to build, tied up his underlings, stole his magical artifacts, and shouted that they were going to kill the Fox Demon King.
Yu Zhi: I was just sitting at home. How did disaster fall out of the sky?
After nervously hiding for several days, he was caught anyway. Yu Zhi steeled himself, thinking he'd already lived an extra life, so if he died, so be it. But when he raised his head to face death, he saw the white-robed disciples staring at him with wide eyes.
"Holy crap, why is the newbie-zone mini-boss so good-looking?"
"You had such a gorgeous character model and kept it hidden from players all this time!"
Yu Zhi: ?

The test server for the large-scale full-immersion game The Immortal Path Divides Us was met with rave reviews the moment it launched. Its exquisite visuals, immersive gameplay, and realistic magical duels attracted countless players.
Within days, the player forums were buzzing with arguments about the combat system, complaints about the impossibly difficult cultivation mechanics, and discussions about the main story's conspiracy within the leading sect of the immortal path. Then, suddenly, one post stayed pinned at the top for days.
#Help! Is there a way to finish the quest without hurting the newbie-zone mini-boss? He's too pretty to kill TT
Player A: ? Is that even a sentence?
Player B: If you don't kill the newbie-zone mini-boss, what the hell are you playing a combat game for?
Player C: I'm dying. Can you romance addicts stop playing games and go date someone instead?
Player D: Falling for an NPC in a game, dude, your real life must be pretty miserable.

Yu Zhi recently discovered a serious problem. He hadn't transmigrated into some ordinary little fox demon at all... He'd become the newbie-zone mini-boss in the full-immersion game The Immortal Path Divides Us, there for new players to practice on.
Had he worked so hard to take human form just so people could kill him?
Unable to swallow his frustration, Yu Zhi had to choose between working hard to grow stronger and killing the players, or begging the players for mercy. Instead, he decided to become their cyber fox boyfriend.
Why work hard at cultivation when hardcore players can grind for you? And why beg for mercy when you can call them "Big Brother" and live off them?
One "good Big Brother" after another, and techniques he'd never seen and pills he'd never tasted came pouring in, leaving Yu Zhi, a country fox who'd spent a hundred years cultivating just to take human form, utterly stunned.
The foremost immortal sect, which only accepted exceptionally gifted disciples with the potential to ascend; the cruel and bloodthirsty demonic cult of the Demon Realm; the reclusive Daoist sect; the cold and ruthless Sword Sect... Yu Zhi believed in long-term investments. Every player from any sect who came to the newbie zone, whether a total beginner, a hardcore grinder, or a big spender, received his warm attention.
As the little fox demon saw the players off from the newbie zone, he wiped away a tear. "Big Brother, remember to come back for me when you've finished cultivating."
The player, whose sleeve was being tugged by the beautiful and pitiful fox: "...Do I really have to leave the newbie zone?"
Before long, Yu Zhi discovered a troublesome problem: far too many people seemed to be coming back for him.
How had they gone from little Qi Refining cultivators to top disciples of their sects, the Sword Sect's senior brother, and once-in-a-century geniuses of the Daoist sect in just one month?

The world of cultivation had been as still as stagnant water for a century, but lately, strange things had been happening. Cultivation geniuses never seen before were suddenly appearing in sect after sect, bringing life to the long-dormant world of cultivation.
As the foremost orthodox sect, Xuanwu Sect naturally had to investigate the cause. They couldn't let this group of sudden newcomers ruin the sect's century-long plans.
Their investigation led them to a little fox demon.
His magic was weak, he had no talent, and the only thing he had going for him was a passable face.
An elder of Xuanwu Sect summoned his most prized disciple and instructed him, "Kill this anomaly."
It should have been an easy mission, but things went wrong. The disciple, stabbed through the chest by a sword, looked confused and unwilling to accept it. "Senior Brother, Master values you so highly, and yet you betray the sect to protect that fox demon!"
The senior brother holding the sword sneered. "You're an NPC. What the hell do you know? What fox demon? That's my wife!"
