Reunited in the Seventh Year

Seven years of longing, a marriage pact, a murder. The story of Qi Yixing and Chen Jin began with a confession left unspoken, and they fell in love as they investigated an unsolved case.

Here's a sweeter blurb:

The provincial public security bureau specially brought in a psychologist to assist the 716 Task Force. On her first day, everyone was full of praise: “What a gorgeous young lady.”

Director Yang warmly introduced her: “Everyone, make sure you get along. You'll get to know each other soon enough.”

Qi Yixing, the tall and handsome captain of the criminal investigation team, glanced at her and drawled, “We may not know each other well, but she's my wife.”

Everyone: “!!!!”

Psychologist Chen Jin: “It's true.”

Chen Jin fell for Qi Yixing in high school. She thought she had taken advantage of him by getting to marry him. What she didn't know was that Qi Yixing thought he'd struck it lucky with this marriage!

Crime investigation blurb:

In the early hours of July 16, the Li Jianlin family was brutally murdered in a northern suburb slated for demolition. The mother had her throat slit from behind. The father's blood soaked half the bed. The sister's blood splattered across the entire keyboard. The younger brother was stabbed through the heart on the stairs...

The only survivor was the second daughter, Li Qier, who was rescued from the brink of death. The killer had worked swiftly and cruelly, leaving the scene spotless. The police had no leads.

The task force waited and waited, and finally managed to get her to wake up, only for her to have lost her memory.

The investigation and the recovery of her memories began at the same time. The police painstakingly pieced together the clues, and as the case unfolded, one secret after another came to light: an illicit romance, illegal dealings, a broken family...

The truth kept taking unexpected turns. What was really hidden beneath it all?

A little note from the author: This book was inspired by a dream. It's my first attempt at a crime investigation mystery, and the investigative logic may be a little lacking. Please bear with me.

Some parts may be a bit of a brainteaser. For the sake of the story, the crime investigation details aren't professionally accurate, so please don't compare them with real police work.
