The Little Koi Just Wants to Slack Off and Cuddle on Extreme Variety Shows

Yu Baibai is a lazy carp spirit who can’t be bothered to do anything.

With his incense offerings dwindling and his habit of meddling in other people’s affairs, his luck is severely depleted, and every now and then he turns back into a mermaid.

Then a nightmare jolts him awake: he’s a cannon-fodder NPC in a novel. After using up all his luck to help the protagonist, he’ll devolve into a giant wild koi, destined to be cooked in a soup!

Yu Baibai immediately sits up straight in the bathtub.

He can’t become a giant carp!

So he sets his sights on the novel’s protagonist, the darling of fortune: Luo Xinghuan, the future entertainment-industry heartthrob and heir apparent.

Bathed in starlight, a lofty beauty, halo upon halo. Get close, cling tight, and the luck will come!

As it happens, Luo Xinghuan is about to appear on an extreme-sports variety show. Yu Baibai makes it onto the show by holding his breath underwater for two minutes, becoming the resident straight man.

Yu Baibai is delighted to laze around. Get close! Cling for dear life! Cuddle up! Fake a couple for the cameras!

But the protagonist’s signals are just too strong. Yu Baibai gets so much koi luck that the two of them end up snorkeling and swimming together underwater, and Yu Baibai lands on the trending page.

[He really does look like a little mermaid]

[He and Young Master Luo are perfect together]

Being tied to Luo Xinghuan means Yu Baibai can never go back to his carefree life. So he issues a statement, planning to run off with the luck he’s saved up.

But on the very day he posts it, his account gets hacked and the statement is taken down. He hears a key turning in the lock, and Luo Xinghuan corners him in the cramped room, staring at him with dark, unfathomable eyes.

“Baibai, you’ve gotten enough luck. Now you want to run?”

Help! The book never said he was a creepy, obsessive guy! What happened to him being a lofty beauty?

Free incense offerings, free fish body, G!

Ever since Luo Xinghuan saw his fish tail that day, he knew Yu Baibai was the fish who would grant his wish.

But fish only have a seven-second memory. When Yu Baibai sees him again, he’s forgotten everything and just foolishly sticks close to him.
