Because of the "X Conversion Agent," Tang Jingye's secondary sex was artificially changed to omega before he was born.
His glands are disabled, and their basic functions, reproduction and development, are completely suppressed. He can neither secrete pheromones nor develop his glands.

The most marginalized omega in his family, he isn't even considered worthy of a political marriage.
Tang Jingye struggled through this environment, rising from a disposable pawn in his family to a military general, just one step away from becoming commander.

Qi Weihong was the alpha his family valued most, but his glands developed abnormally during puberty, suppressing his reproductive function. This meant he was an alpha who was completely infertile.
His family had no need for an heir with a crippling disability. A new heir was born, and Qi Weihong gradually became sidelined.
He went to Northern Military District Three, one of the districts most frequently caught up in war, and became a general through his hard-won military merits.

The basic setup is that all six ABO sexes have glands, but the glands of alphas and omegas differ from those of betas.
Gland functions are divided into reproductive and developmental functions. The specifics will be explained in the story.
