After I Infiltrated the Japanese Army in Republican-Era China

I transmigrated to Republican-era China, but into the body of a Japanese invader. He Zhengnan, a food safety specialist, opened his eyes to find himself turned into Tsuruta Masao, a Japanese student who had witnessed a massacre firsthand and was now at risk of being conscripted. The worst start imaginable! On one side was Kondo, a dark and twisted villain bent on recruiting him to help impose cultural rule. On the other was Comrade Dai, the heroine, who had infiltrated his circle to carry out an assassination plan. He Zhengnan couldn't beat either of them, but he couldn't afford to cross either one, either! So he gritted his teeth and became a master of time management, working three jobs a day. By day, he was an honored guest among the Japanese invaders. At night, he used his positions as a translator and editor to deliberately let secrets slip, helping Comrade Dai pass along intelligence. In the dead of night, under the codename “Yellow Red,” he carried out sabotage. Embedded in enemy territory, he put everything he'd learned in his past life to use in reverse: pufferfish toxin, poisonous mushrooms, undercooked green beans, nitrites, and aflatoxin. He could either carry out an assassination without leaving a trace or quietly cripple the enemy's logistics. As a cultural adviser, he published practical advice in newspapers, with secret rendezvous codes hidden among the articles. At school, he sheltered progressive students and safeguarded their cultural heritage. Gradually, Kondo realized that some force among the upper ranks seemed to be hammering his side... Gradually, Dai Zhenzhen began to suspect that Tsuruta Masao, the not-so-bright Japanese adviser, was surprisingly useful... This is an anti-war story.
