[Main story complete]
In a nutshell: Life is as unpredictable as lightning. No one can foresee tomorrow.
So tonight, I love you.
Childhood sweethearts, mutual pining, and a story about two cowards.
Lin Mu was lonely from childhood, unloved by his father and mother. Yet he happened to meet a boy who cherished him like the apple of his eye.
The boy was handsome and kind, with every wonderful quality in the world gathered in him.
Lin Mu grew up with the boy by his side. They became childhood friends, the people who knew each other better than anyone else.
He fell hopelessly in love with him, but his timidity and cowardice left him without the courage to stay by the young man's side.
Lin Mu couldn't let his love ruin his childhood friend's life.
So he chose to leave and numb himself with work in an unfamiliar city.
Just as he thought his love would never see the light of day, the phone rang.
"Mr. Lin, this is the police station. Please come in and give a statement."
His love hadn't just come to light. It had landed him at the police station, where it turned into letter after letter filled with love.
With the letters in hand, Lin Mu returned to the empty house once more.
He wanted to apologize to his childhood friend, ask him to wait on the road to the underworld, and give him one more chance: a chance to confess.
Before he could play tug-of-war with a rope around his neck, a white shadow appeared in the house.
Bad news: The house is haunted, and a ghost jumps out to scare people.
Good news: The ghost haunting the house is the person he's had a crush on.
Zhang Shunze has a secret. He's always had someone he secretly loved.
For eighteen years.
Zhang Shunze racked his brains to help the other person grow up confident and brave, until he became the class monitor and Engineer Lin, whom everyone praised...
But the other man was an utterly straight guy who thought of him as a brother, a childhood friend, a best buddy. So Zhang Shunze never dared confess, not even on his deathbed.
But he never expected that after he died, his best friend would cry as though his wife had died, then try to join him in the grave.
He had to show himself and stop him. "Hello! We don't offer burial-companion services here..."
Zhang Shunze thought that the living and the dead belonged to separate worlds, and that his best friend would be scared. Instead, his ghostly friend looked at him with a cold expression.
"Either you come back to life, or I become a ghost and marry you."
???
Oh no. His best friend was turning into his wife and planning to follow him to the underworld.
Zhang Shunze could only coax him, fulfill his "last wish," and set off on a journey...
Note:
A sweet story, each other's first love, both bittersweet and sugary... (A pure comfort read!!!)

Fang Shu is a newly certified veterinary intern who's just been made permanent. He's about to start a life surrounded by fluffy animals.
But on his way to buy cat food, he gets hit by a truck and is reborn as an adorable, crawling orange kitten.
A real ball of fluff.
Good news: His boss calls the police, fights for justice, then takes him home as a cat and becomes his cat dad.
He raises him, feeding him one bottle at a time.
Bad news: His boss puts on a baby voice, pets him from head to tail every day, and even kisses his face...
But Fang Shu tells himself: Don't be so fussy about things when you're a kitten. Kittens have big hearts!
His boss raises Fang Shu into a fearless little cat, meowing at the heavens and earth, doing whatever he pleases.
Until the boss catches him secretly tossing his food out the window to feed a stray cat.
The boss's face darkens. "You're definitely old enough to date, baby. We need to take some precautions."
Precautions? What precautions can a cat take besides getting neutered?
Fang Shu tries to refuse and runs away from home.
But his boss flips him over, pins him in his arms, kisses his belly, eats his crunchy snacks, and won't stop stroking his crotch.
Fang Shu yowls and howls, but then he hears his boss call him by his name from when he was human...
"Fang Shu, the outside world is too dangerous for a little cat."
When Zhou Chi was a guest lecturer at a university, he met a student as nimble as a cat.
At their first meeting, right under Zhou Chi's nose, the student spent an entire class finding an adoptive family for the principal's son.
At their second meeting, the student stood across from him with a smile. Fang Shu was his new intern.
At their third meeting, the student was made permanent. Zhou Chi deliberately went back to the hospital to congratulate him,
only to see Fang Shu lying in a pool of blood halfway there, his round eyes vacant.
He called the police and waited by the roadside. A cat emerged from the bushes, damp and looking a little pitiful.
Zhou Chi's expression softened. He picked up the cat and took it along as he accompanied Fang Shu on his final journey.
So later, when he saw the cat playing video games in his study, Zhou Chi accepted it surprisingly quickly.
Well, that's good. The cat really did become a cat.
Steady veterinary hospital director top x cheerful, airheaded cat bottom
Notes:
Eight-year age gap: the bottom is 21, the top is 29.
The age gap gets even bigger when he's a cat... hahaha.
At first the top thinks he's old. Later, he's glad to be older, because an older guy can afford to spoil his precious kitty.
He turns back into a human later, with cat ears and a tail~
Theme: Cherish life, and treasure the person by your side.
It was so sad, but I laughed again when I saw the lawyer being scared.
My heart is throbbing with pain 😭
Wuwuwuwuwu kept crying,
"Put the cover slip on, as for..." This is a big bug for the author~ Is it again?
"Put the cover slip on, as for..." This is a big bug for the author~ Is it again?
I really want to go to Harbin after seeing it.
