Dr. Gu Keeps Snatching Up Secure Jobs: A warmhearted doctor and a worried policeman
Synopsis
Cheng Zhufeng (a landscape photographer, the pursued) x Chu Zhongju (a former psychologist)
As a landscape photographer, Cheng Zhufeng sets off alone for Tibet with his camera and his convictions, hoping to shoot a series of landscapes there.
But at the Bangjie service area, 4,500 meters above sea level, altitude sickness makes him topple headfirst into a brand-new Land Rover.
His last thought before blacking out is: This car isn't going to make me pay through the nose, is it...
That collision doesn't cost him an arm and a leg. Instead, somehow, it gives him love at first sight.
Holding his forehead, he looks at the man in front of him. “Handsome, got any plans to go to Lhasa?”
Chu Zhongju: “No.”
Cheng pats his pocket and, panting after every step, pulls out his ID card.
“I do. I'm just short an assistant. Why don't you come with me? I'll cover food and lodging, and even post you on my social media.”
Cheng Zhufeng wheedles, tricks, and even resorts to his good looks to lure the man onto the journey.
He takes the handsome stranger over glaciers, across the plateau, and thousands of miles to follow migrating birds. They climb to the top of snowy mountains to watch the stars fill the sky.
But whenever Cheng Zhufeng raises his camera, he realizes the other man is taking pictures of him, too.
At the foot of a snow-capped mountain, Cheng Zhufeng asks, “Are we climbing this one?”
Chu Zhongju: “Wherever you go, I'll follow.”
At the summit, with the snow glowing red in the sunset and the air painfully thin, Cheng Zhufeng hugs an oxygen tank to his chest. “So, when are you going to make your way into my heart?”
Chu Zhongju presses hard on the oxygen nozzle, utterly helpless. “When you've caught your breath.”
Cheng Zhufeng: “Huff, huff!”
Chu Zhongju: “So, can you breathe yet?”
“...Huh?!”
The first out-of-character thing Chu Zhongju ever did was quit his job and head to Tibet to see if he could really forget all his troubles.
He hadn't even reached Lhasa when he picked up a photographer on the way, one who got altitude sickness and made a fuss about everything.
The photographer takes him to see all kinds of life and experience a world he's never seen before.
Carrying his own worries, he hears the source of his latest one say:
“Think of me as a migrating bird. I'll take you somewhere suitable to spend the winter.”
A little scene:
The wind at 4,500 meters blows against the car window as Cheng Zhufeng wraps his arms around Chu Zhongju's neck.
Cheng Zhufeng: “Brother Chu, what's it like to kiss on the plateau?”
Chu Zhongju: “I don't know, but you can tell me.”
“...”
Chu Zhongju holds the other man's chin and leans close to his ear. “You'll feel dizzy, and your heart will race.”
