The Typhoon's Unreached Eye

At seventeen, Shang Wu and Chen Yu kissed inside an abandoned lighthouse, while the distant horn of a cargo ship drowned out their heartbeats. They carved marks into each other's skin with a compass, believing pain could prove their love would last forever.

Ten years later, on a stormy night at their class reunion, they meet again beneath the awning of a convenience store. The wedding ring on Chen Yu's left hand gleams coldly, while in Shang Wu's pocket lies a diagnosis of late-stage lung cancer. The lighthouse has long since been demolished, but their memories cling like rust.

On the final night before the typhoon makes landfall, two men sentenced to death by fate return to the ruins. Chen Yu's liver cancer and Shang Wu's blood-filled cough mingle in the rain. The sharp burst of popping candy on their tongues feels just as it did back then. The confessions left unspoken, the truth behind their forced separation, the love hidden beneath their bruises, at last become impossible to conceal in this devastating storm.

"This time, I'm really not leaving."

"Then let's stay together."

Some loves can even make death step aside.

"The 'S' carved into a neck at seventeen was blown into a rusted suicide note by the typhoon ten years later."

Please don't hate the characters. Their personalities and everything else were created by me, and have nothing to do with them. If you must hate someone, hate me.
