Bo Ling is a water demon who lives in Qinghe River, which cuts across the Immortal Realm. When he first meets Li Boyu, Li is not yet the cold and heartless number-one swordsman of the Immortal Realm. He is merely a young Core Formation disciple of the Poxie Sect, dressed in the standard uniform worn by all sect disciples and sitting aboard a spirit boat, looking fresh-faced and beautiful.
The boy leaves an indelible impression on Bo Ling, who is still a ball of demonic energy. Because Li Boyu's sword is named Bozhen, Bo Ling gives himself that name.
Bo Ling schemes his way into marrying Li Boyu, and for ten years, he thinks only that his husband is cold and distant, as if separated from him by the clouds. When Bo Ling is framed and his identity exposed, Li Boyu upholds his righteous path by killing his own family, striking Bo Ling down into the bottomless Spirit Pool.
Bo Ling narrowly survives and meets the young Gong Jiuxiao, who has yet to become the Human Emperor. He helps him seize the throne, and when Gong Jiuxiao ascends as Human Emperor, Bo Ling becomes the sole empress of his harem.
Gong Jiuxiao expands his borders, establishes laws, and rules the realm. But a mortal is still only flesh and blood. After he is injured on the battlefield, he is carried back to the palace. By the time he is in Bo Ling's arms, he has only one last breath left. Bo Ling steals a sacred relic from the Northern Region's Holy Temple and uses the spiritual leyline of Qinghe River to prolong Gong Jiuxiao's life.
That day, demonic power filled the mortal realm's imperial palace, alarming the Poxie Sect. Li Boyu personally descends to the mortal realm and shatters Bo Ling's demonic formation. Before Bo Ling's eyes, Gong Jiuxiao's corpse rots until all that remains is a dry skeleton.
For the next ten years, Bo Ling is sealed beneath the cliffs of the Poxie Sect's water prison. Then one day, a voice wakes him. It turns out a demon dragon named Cangxi is also imprisoned here, having been sealed by Li Boyu. Cangxi tempts Bo Ling to break the seal.
Bo Ling painfully urges his demonic power into motion, and the Xuanming Hall welcomes its master back. The Netherworld Lord returns, bringing his new Netherworld Empress with him. The Netherworld celebrates their wedding for three whole days.
Years later, Cangxi leads the people of the Netherworld in an assault on the Poxie Sect. Li Boyu is captured alive. Bo Ling sees Li Boyu, tortured and barely alive, his hair entirely white and bone spikes piercing his shoulder blades.
At the execution ground, Bo Ling can hardly believe Li Boyu could ever fall so low. Yet Li Boyu remains calm when he sees him, so calm that he even tells Bo Ling to kill him and avenge Gong Jiuxiao.
Not long afterward, unable to bear the humiliation, Li Boyu takes his own life in the Netherworld, taking Cangxi with him. An immortal falls, the Netherworld Palace collapses, and Bo Ling dies in the wreckage.
That is Bo Ling's life.
But when Bo Ling opens his eyes again, he has returned to the fifth year of his marriage to Li Boyu. He is lying on a crude wooden bed, while Li Boyu stands silently beside him with a sword in hand. When Bo Ling wakes, Li Boyu stares intently at him and says, "Hold me."
Chains bind Bo Ling's feet, and his body is covered in talisman seals. Trembling, he reaches out, wanting to grab Li Boyu by the throat, wanting to take his life. Instead, the man draws his hand in and holds him firmly in his arms, cherishing him as he says, "Bo Ling, I will never fail you again in this life."
Bo Ling: "…"
The white moonlight turns into a black-hearted, gloomy madman.
Li Boyu has memories of his previous life. He suffers, trembling in front of Bo Ling, and doesn't dare reveal that he remembers anything, all the while thinking of running away to find the Human Emperor.
Does anyone else get why I love stories where the shou seems to curl up against the gong in an affectionate way, but is actually always thinking of running away?
A bewitching beauty shou adored by all x gong
The plot will be greatly changed in comparison, and the ending won't be the original ending either. The original setting was that Bo Ling's spirit was the spirit of heaven and earth, and the shou would ultimately become the strongest. I didn't manage to convey that feeling before, so I'm giving it another try. The ending is open.
Theme: Haven't thought of one yet.
