Not Close

He Zhirun was the head of publicity at a company. His position was senior and his abilities were strong, but he and the big boss at the top seemed to be born at odds. At work, they clashed at every turn and neither would give way.

That day, the boss rejected yet another carefully polished publicity plan for the coming season without mercy. Anger surged through He Zhirun. He snatched up his folder, turned around, and slammed out the door. In his haste, he didn't notice the person who was also leaving. The heavy solid-wood door went with a loud bang, striking the boss squarely on the forehead and immediately leaving a prominent red lump.

The other people in the office sucked in their breath. In private, they all urged him to get the hint, go apologize, and swallow his pride.

He Zhirun held his chin high and refused.

No one knew that after work, this tough-as-nails Director He would ride the elevator alone down to the underground parking garage, glance around, and then climb into the passenger seat of a familiar black car as if he knew the way by heart.

As soon as the door closed, he leaned toward the man in the driver's seat. All his earlier bravado vanished. He carefully touched the obvious bump on the man's forehead, his voice suddenly soft and gentle. He pressed his hands together in a pleading gesture and tried to ingratiate himself: "Honey, are you okay? I really didn't do it on purpose..."

Unrelated by blood. A fussy, spoiled bottom and a daddy-type top. The bottom acts like they aren't close, while the top wants them to be very close.
