Exclusive Lover GL

Shen Ji thinks people who are hopeless romantics are crazy.

In her eyes, love is madness, irrationality, and a path to ruin. The only way for two people to walk together, even briefly, is to want the same things.

When someone no longer has a use for her, she moves on to the next.

There’s never a shortage of people around her willing to share her bed.

So when her fiancée cheats on her, she calls a friend straight away. “Find me someone else. Someone better than her. Right now.”

“Most importantly,” she pauses, “she needs to make Grandma believe she’s madly in love with me.”

The next day, Chu Xi arrives.

She wears a white dress and looks gentle and dignified. When she smiles, her eyes curve, and she speaks softly.

Shen Ji is satisfied. “Sign it.”

She slides over a prenuptial agreement, her tone strictly businesslike. “I’ll help you fend off arranged marriages, and you’ll keep Grandma happy. We each get what we need.”

Chu Xi lowers her eyes and obediently signs.

At twenty-three, Chu Xi already knows that Shen Ji will take anyone who comes along. She’s a heartless flirt and absolutely not someone to fall for.

But that night, when Chu Xi sees Shen Ji sitting all alone in a corner of a bar, drinking a glass of black rum, she can’t stop her heart from fluttering or herself from becoming infatuated.

She thinks, if anyone will do, why not me?

She gets up, walks over to Shen Ji with a drink, and successfully follows her back to her apartment.

The aurora shines brilliantly beneath the Norwegian winter sky. Curled up beneath Shen Ji, she clings to the woman’s lean body, bites her lip in helpless frustration, and sobs out all the secrets of her young heart.

She cries until she’s utterly broken. Afterwards, she empties her wallet onto the table, throws on her coat, and rushes away.

It was just sex, she tells herself. Shen Ji was nothing special.

She’s a fickle, promiscuous mess. She’s no good.

Chu Xi starts paying less attention to Shen Ji and throws herself into her creative work, forgetting her completely.

That year, the snow in Tromso is especially heavy, burying every trace.

Until she hears from one of Shen Ji’s friends that Shen Ji is looking for someone to marry.

In an instant, she’s pulled back to that night.

The winter night, the aurora, the woman’s lean body, her hot breath falling against Chu Xi’s ear, and the force that seemed to pierce her heart…

Desire is like a wildfire, burning away all her reason.

She loses her mind and thinks, just once more. Just one more night…

They sign a marriage contract for three years.

But then it’s three years, and three years again.

The top is no good.

But that’s fine. The bottom has a good set of teeth.
