I Can Smell Ghosts

Xie Zihuan is always smelling strange things.

At a car accident scene, he smelled osmanthus cakes.

In a student dormitory, he smelled leather.

At a murder scene, he smelled the sweet scent of ice cream.

At first, he thought his sense of smell had gone haywire.

Later, he learned that what he was smelling was the scent of ghosts.

Everything in the world has a scent of its own.

He alone can detect them.

A clay doll that smiles at night.

A radio station you can only tune in to at midnight.

A television that switches on by itself in the middle of the night.

Countless incidents he had never imagined before come crashing down on him.

Only at the end does he realize that he has long since become part of the supernatural world.
