What Is the Gluttonous Streamer Eating Today?

Update Hiatus Notice:

I'm very sorry to tell all you lovely readers that, because a family member is undergoing surgery, I need to stay at the hospital with them. On top of that, anxiety and an irregular schedule have given me a stomach ulcer. Whenever I write food scenes, I get stomach cramps that vary in severity. On my doctor's advice, I've decided to pause updates for this story. I'll resume once my family member is discharged and my stomach has recovered.

In a while, I may post a story with chapters already written and let the scheduled-post function update it automatically. I probably won't be able to read your comments until mid-August.

Shi Yi is the only Taotie in all of creation. To make a living, he starts livestreaming himself eating.

Braised chicken, roast chicken, beggar's chicken.

Steamed buns, fried dough sticks, tofu pudding.

Scallion pancakes, baked flatbread, spicy pepper soup.

Barbecue, hot pot, clay pot rice.

The Taotie, who had been hungry for a million years, eats until tears stream down his face.

He will protect the delicious food made by humans forever!

So whether it's a Daoist disrupting the order of the mortal world or a demonic cultivator trying to use mortals as sacrificial vessels, he'll gobble them all up.

On his quest for delicious food, the Taotie comes across an interesting food-stall owner.

The owner sets up shop in a different place every week, at times and locations that are downright sinister. His prices are so high they could make you cry.

Selling buns for fifty yuan each on a street full of cheap snacks.

Selling fried skewers in a graveyard at midnight.

Selling pork trotter rice outside a temple.

The stall owner changes locations every week and uses a different disguise each time. He deliberately keeps a low profile and limits how much each customer can buy, as if he doesn't care about sales at all.

The Taotie doesn't care why the stall owner does it.

Because the food he makes smells so good.

So good that the Taotie wants to eat the stall owner, too.

Later, the Taotie sits on the bed, gazing at the sleeping person beside him, lost in thought.

Isn't I the Taotie? Then why am I the one being eaten?
