The Eleventh Year Without Spring

[Short story / Bad ending]

Neither of them lived to see the spring of their eleventh year together.

Synopsis:

Shen Jin suddenly stopped loving Jiang Mian. Jiang Mian had no idea why. Just a month earlier, they'd been inseparable, happily choosing wedding dresses together.

"Let's break up. I'm tired of this."

"She's just an ex-girlfriend."

"Jiang Mian, can't you live without me?"

As he held his new lover and humiliated her, the hand in his pocket trembled uncontrollably. He couldn't even meet her eyes.

She believed him, hated him, and burned every memory of their ten years together.

It wasn't until three months after she left, when that phone call came, that she learned his cruel words had been lies he'd told with his life on the line.

"Jiang Mian, without me... you have to live well."

But without Shen Jin, Jiang Mian had long since stopped wanting to live.

"Do you think pushing me away like this means I won't hurt?"

Her lover really was an idiot.

"We promised each other forever. We have to see it through, even on the road to the afterlife."
