Lend Me Your Insight

[Blurb]

Heaven shut every door in my face, but opened my eyes.

Wang Xiaofang is an ordinary corporate drone.

She has a tragic background, little education, a taste for the finer things, and a laid-back attitude toward life. She lies flat,

gets chewed out by her boss every day,

and is always on the verge of being fired.

Then one day, she discovers that life has given her a golden finger:

she can travel back and forth between two worlds, one virtual and one real.

Time passes faster in the virtual world than in reality.

Does that mean she can foresee what will happen?

-

Her boss is the quintessential domineering CEO.

He's a workaholic, a control freak, and a severe sufferer of obsessive-compulsive disorder and germophobia.

He's old-fashioned, worth tens of millions, and still uses an iPhone 4S.

He doesn't have WeChat or send texts. He bombards people with calls at all hours,

and chews Wang Xiaofang out every single day.

Then one day, he notices that something seems different about her:

she opens and closes her eyes, and it seems like she knows something?

-

One day, Wang Xiaofang finally can't take it anymore.

A monthly salary of three thousand, and her boss still wants more?!

She has two drinks, then angrily hands in her resignation.

The office goes so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Two cold drops of sweat trickle down Wang Xiaofang's back.

She expects her boss to fly into a rage and throw her out,

but instead, he walks over with the air of a refined scoundrel, brushes the dust off her shoulder, and asks in a gentle voice:

"Feeling a little wronged, Fangfang? How about a promotion and a raise to fifty thousand a month?"
