“What do you mean I’ve shrunk from a high schooler to an elementary school kid, and the main story won’t start for another ten years, ” Someone takes a deep breath. “Could I get a reliable alternate self to raise me first, OK?”
And so the Kirishima family was born.
Then he raised a high schooler who was a mini version of an agent.
Contestant No. 1: Some people want me to remember, and some don’t.
“So, before you lost your memory, were you a mole or not?”
Contestant No. 2: I say we execute everyone, effective immediately.
“Are you sure you went to the police academy?”
Contestant No. 3: I don’t want to go out, talk, see anyone, or work.
“Is that how you serve as a member with a codename?”
Never mind. The high schooler who’d struggled to raise himself shut his eyes in exasperation.
The nonexistent Kirishima family doesn’t need any more people!
Yes, the family consisted of a father who never showed his face, an eldest brother who was like a black moonlight, a second brother who never became a police officer even in death, a third brother who handed out identities wholesale, and him, who absolutely refused to take the civil service exam.
That’s the Kirishima family as seen by manga readers.
And don’t ask where Mom went. Alternate selves can’t change sex just yet.

Miwako Syndrome is an addictive behavior characterized by an attraction to secrets and death, sometimes even an obsession. It’s common among police officers, detectives, and criminals, like a fever called curiosity.
Kirishima Wataru is a survivor of this disease.
“If I said I only wanted to be an ordinary person, would anyone believe me?”
*No secret identities. The alternate selves exist independently. Ensemble cast with multiple points of view.
*This story includes distant relationships, invented backstories for characters whose pasts weren’t mentioned, alternate selves appearing as antagonists, and butterfly-effect-style salvation.
*The first book, serving as a prequel. Happy ending.
*I wrote a mainstream blurb just to get you to read my niche story (.

System: No, you’ll die if you don’t do the missions. Don’t give up yet. I’ll help you raise affection and complete them
Sasaki Akira: But why are most of the romance options men?
System: How would I know!
Sasaki Akira: Fine. I guess friendship affection counts too?
…After he finds out who the targets are, he’s grateful he didn’t let this ridiculous setup fool him.
[The Heisei-era Sherlock Holmes, Shinichi Kudo]

Sasaki Akira: He’s my classmate!
System: That’s fair. He is the main character of this manga, after all.
Sasaki Akira: ? Did you just say something pretty outrageous?
[Zero’s Enforcer, Rei Furuya]
Sasaki Akira: Doesn’t he call himself Toru Amuro?
System: Oh, don’t use his real name unless you want to see him standing by your bed in the middle of the night.
Sasaki Akira: I can’t believe I never checked the game’s rating.
System: Graphic violence counts as R18, too.
[The Scarlet Investigator, Shuichi Akai]
System: What an arrogant man, still growing his hair long.
Sasaki Akira: Do you have a problem with him?
System: I’ve always wondered if anyone’s ever grabbed his hair in a fight.
Sasaki Akira: Maybe that other guy with long hair knows.
[-More romance options waiting to be unlocked-]
System: Hey, watch it. Keep everyone’s affection scores about even. If you really unlock a route, I’ll be the first to kill you
[Affection MAX]
Sasaki Akira: What was that you just said?
Theme: After struggling with myself for so long, I’d rather be myself
