Marriage before love. They can't stand each other → He becomes a devoted husband.

Song Siyun has disliked Gu Yanzhou since childhood. Everyone in the capital knows it.

She says bluntly, "He's a walking jinx. Anyone who gets involved with him is doomed."

She never expected an imperial edict of betrothal to bind the two people least suited to each other together.

At the palace gates, Song Siyun stops Gu Yanzhou. He is dressed in white, his eyes and brows stern, yet there's a smile on his lips.

Through gritted teeth, she says, "I'm not marrying you. Go call off the engagement!"

The bright yellow imperial edict slips from her hand, only for the man to pick it up with a squint and a smile. "The emperor has decreed this marriage. It cannot be disobeyed."

The answer is just what she expected.

Song Siyun curls her lip, undisguised mockery in her eyes. "Since you're such a coward, keep your tail tucked after we marry. That way, perhaps we can at least keep up appearances."

"I couldn't ask for more."

Those are the only four words Gu Yanzhou leaves her with as he walks away.

But later, beneath the bed curtains, the young woman taps his nose with her slender, pale fingers and teases him softly. "Is this what you meant when you said you couldn't ask for more, Lord Gu?"

The man gathers all her fingertips between his lips and teeth, and mumbles his way out of it. "You once said we wouldn't interfere with each other, either, my lady."

Elder Sister as Wife: Childhood Sweethearts, A Story of Raising Someone Up and Winning Her Back

Rekindled love || Affection grows over time || Childhood sweethearts, growing up together

Fang He lost her mother when she was young and her father at eleven. Fortunately, Shen's mother took pity on her and brought her home to raise as a future daughter-in-law.

That was the first time she met Shen Huaixu.

The young boy had rosy lips and pearly white teeth. Though young, he already had a scholar's proud integrity, and was a handsome little gentleman.

Fang He blushed and accepted her new status in her heart.

But the young boy didn't like her at all.

For no reason and with no explanation, he disliked her alone.

At first, Fang He didn't take it to heart. Then, one day, the boy skipped school and came home in the rain. His eyes red, he smashed things in a rage, pointed at her, and said, "I don't like you. I won't marry you. Don't get any foolish ideas!"

"The old scholar of Qinghu wrote, 'From my high study, I look down on fine trees; through the thin blinds, I welcome the cool breeze.' From now on, your name will be Shen Jinyue! If you cherish the present, blessings and peace will follow you."

Fang He said nothing. She crouched to pick up the broken pieces and softly replied, "All right."

From then on, she was simply Jinyue of the Shen family, Shen Huaixu's elder sister.

That's what she thought.

But later, this man took hold of her sleeve, his usually clear eyes suddenly full of grievance, and called to her imploringly, "Elder Sister, I was wrong."

Come read about Huaixu getting a taste of his own medicine every day! (Heart)

P.S.

1. Both leads' first times; happy ending.

2. An entirely fictional setting with lots of original details. Pure fluffy sweetness! (Important!)

3. A chaotic mix of clothing styles, so please don't overthink it. QAQ

Theme: Love requires honesty.
