Zhou Yi x Xie Chan
After making his comeback, Xie Chan takes a role in a film about Zhou Yushe, the founding patriarch of White Crane Mountain.
They say Patriarch Zhou attained enlightenment during the Wei and Jin dynasties, then suddenly ascended. He appears once every sixty years, in what is called ten lives and ten deaths. His remains are still kept in the Patriarch Zhou Hall at White Crane Mountain. Few people have seen them, but they say he looks like he's been soaked in formalin. You'd believe it if someone told you he'd wake up and chat for a while.
Xie Chan takes careful notes. After all, he's playing Zhou's senior brother, Xie Xueguan, and he's really getting into the role.
Three strange things happen on the first day of filming.
First, the actor playing Patriarch Zhou is replaced at the last minute. The new actor isn't a professional, but Zhou Yi, a production assistant who specializes in feng shui for film crews.
Second, Chairman Zhou, the seventy-eighth-generation disciple of Patriarch Zhou, finally agrees to lend them the location, but nearly drops to his knees when Zhou Yi offers him a drink.
Third, Xie Chan gets drunk.
After drinking too much, he passes out. When he wakes up, he honors his professional spirit by reading the script.
Then he discovers that several lines of bright red text have been newly printed on the last page:
Do not enter Patriarch Zhou Hall alone after dark.
Do not eat any food provided by the temple.
Do not touch that sword.
Stay away from x! Stay away from x! Stay away from x! (the words have been crossed out)
Welcome back to White Crane Mountain.
I bid the guests in the halls of the immortals farewell;
Our paths meet in a bond spanning life and death.
You do not come to the Dragon Gate Palace;
I must go to the front of White Crane Mountain.
