Yu Yin is a C-rank sentinel who's useless except for his good looks. If there's anything special about him, it's that he transmigrated.
Unlike ordinary people, awakened sentinels have extraordinary physical abilities and mental strength. With the front lines short on troops, all awakened sentinels are conscripted, regardless of rank.
But what does a strong, healthy sentinel have to do with Yu Yin?
Yu Yin never awakened to any of those strengths. He's still the same fragile college student who collapses after an 800-meter run, wheezes like a fan after climbing six flights of stairs, and gets dizzy whenever he stands up after squatting for too long.
Unable to laze around as he'd hoped, Yu Yin is sent to the front lines, where he lands at the bottom of every training exercise. Even a banana peel is better at taking down a sparring partner than he is, making him a famous pretty-boy sentinel on the front lines.
While other sentinels have ferocious spirit companions, Yu Yin's is a black-and-white cat with unknown abilities and a domineering will. From the commanding officer's panther to his fellow soldiers' snow wolves, it treats them all equally, giving each a meow-meow punch.
Unable to earn merit points, Yu Yin has to live on his meager salary and clean up after his cat. The only way he manages to live decently is by clinging to his childhood friend, an S-rank sentinel.
After fainting during training, Yu Yin is taken in for an examination, and they discover that he has guide genes.
"You're awake? Your evolution was a success. You've undergone a secondary differentiation and are now an S-rank guide."
S-rank guides have a status in the Federation comparable to giant pandas. Their mental strength can regulate and purify sentinels' mental domains, preventing them from breaking down due to mental instability.
After waking up to discover he's become a first-class protected species, Yu Yin straightens up and laughs. At last, he can stomp on and bully high-ranking sentinels! ᗜ◞ᗜ
Yu Yin smugly tells his buddy, "From now on, you can cling to my leg."
His buddy seems stunned, only mumbling something stupid like, "Bro, you smell so good."
Later, with a large hand firmly clamped around the top of his thigh, Yu Yin cries, "You jerk, that's not the leg I meant!"
