Six hundred years ago, to suppress the evil flood dragon, the Maoshan Sect used one of its sect treasures, the Nine-Light Mushroom, as one of the objects anchoring a sealing formation.
Six hundred years later, spiritual energy had dwindled and the formation had failed. Both the anchors and the evil flood dragon had vanished without a trace.
Chu Yi was the anchor that had grown legs and run away. Unlike his fellow anchors, which had corroded into dust, he had absorbed the evil flood dragon's aura and become lustrous and translucent. By an unexpected turn of events, he had even gained sentience.
In his innocence, Chu Yi wandered into the human world, where a kindly old man with an otherworldly air successfully conned him into becoming his last disciple.
Who would have thought this master was a complete fake, a naturally gifted fraud with no artificial additives? His entire method of fortune-telling boiled down to "If there's no ghost, we make money; if there is one, we bail." Chu Yi followed along, drawing a few random ghost talismans, pretending to set up formations, and earning a little spending money.
But on Chu Yi's second job with his master, they ran into a powerful evil spirit. Trapped in danger, the two of them frantically threw out a pile of talismans, only to find that they'd blasted the evil spirit into oblivion.
The fraud realized something was wrong. "Wait, what? How did a real one show up when we were faking the whole time?"
After trying it twice more, they discovered that the talismans Chu Yi drew were not only real, but incredibly powerful. Everyone knew "a flash of inspiration turns into a talisman," but had anyone ever seen someone glow all over with spiritual light?
And so, by drawing and selling talismans, Chu Yi began living a comfortable life with plenty to eat and drink.
The Maoshan Sect, which had run into Chu Yi several times, became more and more convinced that this promising talent belonged in their fields. Even the sect's founder came to them in a dream, shouting, "You damn mushroom thief! Give me back my treasure!"
But good times didn't last. The evil flood dragon from back then came looking for him. Chu Yi thought it had come to take revenge for the destroyed anchor, and trembled in fear.
The good news: The evil flood dragon had lost its memory.
The bad news: After absorbing the flood dragon's aura, the lovesick dragon insisted that Chu Yi was his wife.
To save his life, Chu Yi quickly answered, "That's right, I'm your wife! T_T"
But innocent Chu Yi hadn't considered that dragons were lustful by nature. The dragon had nothing but cuddling and kissing on his mind, and after learning how to use the internet, there was no stopping him.
With his back aching and his legs weak, Chu Yi tried to fool the dragon, saying the highest form of love was platonic love, and that they should be a chaste married couple.
The dragon asked, "What kind of position is that? Shall we try it tonight?"
Chu Yi: Has the internet cleanup campaign not reached me yet?
