At the time, the future white wolf leader was still a cub, filthy and pitiful, huddled in a corner of a cage.
As Shi Yi watched the little wolf nuzzle against him and beg for attention, he suddenly thought it might be nice to raise a pet at the end of his life.
The white wolf was obedient and well-behaved, but far too clingy. It followed him everywhere.
Shi Yi was very fond of his pet, until the white wolf caught sight of him during one of his episodes.
The white wolf transformed on the spot and burst into tears. Its tears fell on Shi Yi and, miraculously, steadied his addled mind.
After that, whenever Shi Yi's illness threatened to flare up, the white wolf would refuse to leave. It knelt at Shi Yi's feet with a chain in its mouth, gazing at him with glistening eyes as it mumbled, "Master, please let me help you."
