My Cheat Is Random Psychic Power

An Xiao is an F-rank mental-force user, dead last among the new cadets at a military academy, and a shameless little troublemaker.

She comes in last in exams and live-fire drills, skips class and gets into fights without missing a beat, and keeps dancing along the edge of expulsion, leaving her instructors scrambling to buy emergency heart medication in the middle of the night.

There's only one reason they haven't given up on her:

During her entrance assessment, An Xiao once displayed a terrifying, anomalous 3S-rank mental force.

Though that 3S-rank reading vanished as quickly as it appeared, it still left the higher-ups thrilled.

It's been three years since the last 3S-rank user returned from a high-risk contamination zone, too damaged to ever pilot a mecha again. Humanity desperately needs a new commander to lead them, cut through the eternal night, and bring the dawn.

An Xiao has always known she is different.

When her peers developed mental force, she felt nothing but emptiness inside. She had no mental force. She couldn't feel the shiver of awe or the joy that came from immense power, couldn't smell mental force, and couldn't taste the resentment, humiliation, or anger of being suppressed.

Until one day, a System appeared beside her ear.

An Xiao had just put her hand into the testing device when she watched the mental-force readings shoot up at an incredible speed. At last, the machine flashed an ominous red and sounded the alarm. Her mental force had overloaded and blown it apart!

The military academy admissions instructor rushed over, tears in his eyes, clasped her hand, and forcibly filled out an application for her. Then he told her to report to the academy the very next day.

An Xiao: "..."

I'm really just an ordinary person with no mental force...?

Looks like this will be a long, feel-good story with mecha elements.
