The Love of the Laurel Tree [Greek Mythology]

By the water, Daphne's young and beautiful body slowly transformed into a laurel tree, and her soul was set free.

Apollo arrived too late. Heartbroken, he embraced her trunk, and a glistening teardrop fell.

"To escape me, you'd rather turn into a tree."

"But even in death, you can't escape my grasp."

"Your leaves will adorn the crowns that honor the heroes of the world. You will forever share in my glory."
