[Blue Lock/ABO] He Descended Like God in His Jersey

Beta Isagi, who couldn't play soccer without BLUE LOCK being held, was picked up by Italy's Ubers and brought onto the team as a whetstone. These are the years he spent loving and fighting with Barou.

A catfish storm brought seventeen-year-old Isagi Yoichi and Marc Snuffy together in Florence, changing the soccer lives of countless spectators.

What is soccer? How can it make people so fanatical, so willing to risk everything?

Standing atop the wheels of history, Ubers announced to the world with six consecutive championships:

“I came, I saw, I conquered, ”

“It is there every moment, searching for an outlet.”[1]

Barou Shoei thought Snuffy had found him a whetstone, a wingman, a useless support player, a midfielder... In short, nobody who could rival his strength and ability. He was the successor Marc Snuffy had chosen.

But when Isagi Yoichi used him as a stepping stone to rise to the top, Barou suddenly realized just how stupid he'd been.

There was no doubt about it: Isagi was an obstacle on his path to conquering the world, one he couldn't easily kick aside. At the same time, if Barou wanted to be the king of the team, then the one across from him, the superior who controlled him, was a cruel god of the pitch.

Go to hell. This relationship.

Notes:

1. Snuffy: Coach of Italy's Ubers in the Neo Egoist League.

2. The manga gives Snuffy very little backstory with Ubers, so his characterization here includes headcanon.

3. Alpha Barou x Beta Isagi (with some all-Isagi elements along the way).

4. I posted this in 2023, but felt it was a shame to abandon it, so I'm bringing it back and rewriting it.

5. It's fine if you haven't read Blue Lock; this story isn't connected to its plot.
