Cool, cocky school bully x sweet girl with a rebellious streak
Jiang Zhou is the worst-behaved student at No. 3 High School. He fights, skips class, and gets bad grades, and he's notorious as the school's bully.
Wen Duo is a new transfer student, fair and delicate, with a soft voice. Everyone at school agrees she's a living sweet-girl figurine.
On her first day, Wen Duo catches Jiang Zhou smoking on the rooftop.
The boy stubs out his cigarette and sneers. "New girl, if you're taking pictures, you owe me protection money."
She nervously offers him the milk candy in her hand, her eyes wide as a rabbit's. "C-can I pay in candy?"
Soon, the whole school is abuzz: Brother Zhou has quit smoking, and there's always a sticky candy wrapper in his pocket.

Later, the No. 3 High School forum explodes:
"Breaking! Jiang Zhou memorizing CET-4 vocabulary outside the girls' bathroom"
"The cool guy who said dating makes you stupid is braiding a girl's hair"
"Did anyone see the school bully crouching to tie a girl's shoelaces?"
Meanwhile, the two at the center of it all are alone in the bike shed, with Jiang Zhou pinning Wen Duo in place.
He crushes the candy crumbs at the corner of her lips. "Don't look at a stray dog like that."
Cicadas shrill through the height of summer. She grabs his collar in return, one eyebrow raised.
"But the stray dog just wagged his tail for me."
The most dangerous alarm is a boy's racing heart, heedless of everything.
