Snuggling a Shared-Senses Doll Hooks Me a Cold Childhood Friend

Xie Ying found a palm-sized cotton doll in his childhood friend's dorm.

It was round and adorable, and looked exactly like his childhood friend.

That night, he confessed his feelings to the cotton doll that looked just like his childhood friend.

That's right. Xie Ying had a secret crush on Mo Wuye, his childhood friend who had grown up with him.

Mo Wuye was a campus heartthrob at A University, famous for being a cold and aloof school idol.

Xie Ying only dared to keep his feelings for Mo Wuye buried in his heart. He knew perfectly well that Mo Wuye was straight.

At first, he merely held the cotton doll while he slept. Later, unable to resist his feelings, he kissed the doll on the face.

And then...

Xie Ying felt he'd gone too far and had done something terrible to the cotton doll. Since it looked just like his childhood friend, he was deeply ashamed and couldn't face him.

As it happened, he'd deliberately kept his distance from his childhood friend to hide his feelings.

Keeping my distance is for the best, Xie Ying thought.

-

The doll was actually a link doll.

For certain reasons, Mo Wuye hadn't told Xie Ying about its link-doll abilities.

Mo Wuye had originally thought this wouldn't affect their friendship at all.

But when he heard Xie Ying confess his feelings, his heart pounded.

Xie Ying's fingertips brushed his Adam's apple, touched his cheek, gently pinched his ear, and rested on his abs.

Mo Wuye's cold showers increased dramatically.

What Mo Wuye found hardest to bear was that Xie Ying clearly liked him, yet kept growing more distant from him and becoming more intimate with the cotton doll that looked like him, as if it was the doll he liked.

Then what did that make Mo Wuye?

Mo Wuye's dark eyes sank deeper and deeper.

One weekend, Xie Ying went with his childhood friend to an apartment off campus.

He was settled on a beanbag, with fruit and snacks ready for him. Sunlight streamed in through the window, creating a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.

His handsome childhood friend knelt down in front of him. His usually indifferent voice was unexpectedly gentle, as if he were afraid of startling something.

“A Ying, that was a link doll.”

Mo Wuye looked up at Xie Ying.

He looked so pitifully flustered.

I want to kiss him.
