Don't You Dare Hurt My Favorite! [Honkai: Star Rail]

[I've never written this kind of story before, so I'm giving it a try.]

Li Yuanlan thought he had grown used to Honkai: Star Rail's writers putting him through the emotional wringer. Then he saw the news: "Xianzhou Luofu General Jing Yuan dies after succumbing to Mara-Struck."

...If you don't die in silence, you explode in silence!

His extreme fury attracted a System. The System needed energy, and Li Yuanlan needed a chance. They hit it off immediately.

Li Yuanlan headed for the Xianzhou at once to find Jing Yuan, only to discover that the Xianzhou was still on its way to ask the Aeon of Abundance for medicine???

This timeline was all wrong, wasn't it?!

Jing Yuan wouldn't even be born for at least a few thousand years. What was a short-lived species like him supposed to do?

The System promptly modified its program for its partner, explaining that submitting Abominations of Abundance would build up the energy needed to cross time and meet Jing Yuan.

Li Yuanlan rubbed his hands together, ready for a fight. He had wanted to hunt down the Abundance for ages! They were the ones responsible for Jing Yuan becoming Mara-Struck!

And so Li Yuanlan went all out in the ancient Xianzhou.

Only... had he maybe gone a little too far?

A few thousand years later, the Xianzhou Alliance had become a powerful force renowned throughout the cosmos.

It was all because the Reignbow Arbiter, the Aeon of the Hunt, had manifested before them time and again. Such favor was beyond the imagination of other factions, whose Aeons never answered them.

"Brother Lan, Brother Lan! Did you see? The Reignbow Arbiter appeared on the battlefield last night, and we were lucky enough to pick up one of the Arbiter's light arrows! Ah! I wonder when we'll get to see the Reignbow Arbiter in person..."

Sitting in a Luofu teahouse, Li Yuanlan listened stiffly as Jing Yuan and the others gathered around him, excitedly describing how handsome and powerful the Reignbow Arbiter was.

Li Yuanlan's hand trembled again and again. Stop praising him, please! I want to cover my face and run away...

#What do I do if someone wants to kill my favorite character?

#Easy. I'll just become an Aeon.

#Call Brother Lan if you need help. Brother Lan really will show up.

Reading notes:
