[Story of Yanxi Palace] A Happy Home, A Peaceful Heart

A few little snapshots of childhood sweethearts growing up:

At seven, during the Lantern Festival palace banquet, Zhaoning shielded Fu Heng from flying shards of colored glass. A scar remained on her right wrist, but she called it a "medal." In her eyes, Fu Heng saw the most beautiful lights in the world.

At ten, Zhaoning climbed a tree to pick apricots. Fu Heng spread his cloak beneath her. "I'll count to three. If Your Highness doesn't jump, I'll leave." She fell right into his arms, scattering apricots everywhere.

At twelve, Zhaoning used Fu Heng's sword to carve a kite string and accidentally cut his palm. Fu Heng sighed. "If Your Highness wants to ruin my hand, you might as well cut my tendons." That night, the little princess cried until her eyes were swollen as she treated his wound. Fu Heng clutched his chest and sighed again. "When you cry, this hurts a thousand times more than my palm."

A classic line from Empress Fucha, the biggest CP fan around: "My little brother has been tight-lipped since childhood, but in front of Zhaoning he's like a parrot struck by lightning: noisy and showy!"

Devoted, steadfast, sincere young guard x pampered, sharp-witted, bright, beloved princess

Childhood sweethearts / White Moonlight romance / Mutual crush / Made for each other / Happy ending

"She left in bashful haste, then leaned on the door and looked back, only to find herself smelling the green plums."

"The best thing about childhood-sweetheart romances is that neither person has to do anything extraordinary. They simply stay by each other's side, from their humble beginnings to where they are now. All those things adults say you only do for someone you love, I've done for you again and again over the past decade. In other words, I've loved you from beginning to end. It's just that one afternoon, when the air was filled with the scent of flowers, I suddenly wanted to hold the ends of your hair."

Theme: Love is springtime in full bloom, a thousand times over.
