Yu Zhichun had a not-so-secret secret: he'd been in love with Fu Tingxuan for three years.
Whenever Fu Tingxuan's production crew needed him, Yu Zhichun would rush over, even if it meant working nonstop all day without a break. For Fu Tingxuan, he could give up the hard-won chance to film a documentary he loved and work with the director he hated most in the industry on a tacky but lucrative melodramatic romance.
The trouble was, Fu Tingxuan had no idea. He took Yu Zhichun's devotion for granted and remained completely oblivious as Yu Zhichun's health grew worse and worse.
Yu Zhichun kept following in his footsteps, watching his opportunities improve, watching him climb higher and higher, watching him finally win the Best Actor award.
But Yu Zhichun could get tired, too.
On the day Fu Tingxuan stood on the award stage, Yu Zhichun quietly bought a plane ticket to Switzerland.
His body wouldn't hold out much longer. Loving Fu Tingxuan was exhausting. The doctor said he should make his final days a little easier on himself.

On a snowy mountain in Switzerland, Yu Zhichun saw a pair of eyes exactly like Fu Tingxuan's. Though perhaps that wasn't quite right. After so many years in show business, even Fu Tingxuan's sharp phoenix eyes often sparkled with laughter.
The man's eyes, however, were like the snow that never melted atop a mountain: cold and intimidating.
Yet after Yu Zhichun passed out, it was this complete stranger who scooped him up and carried him to the nearest hospital.
"Fu Linchuan." After Yu Zhichun woke up, the man introduced himself briefly.

When Fu Tingxuan saw Yu Zhichun again, he was nestled in the arms of the older brother he hadn't seen in years. Fu Linchuan held a bowl of herbal medicine, calling him a good boy and coaxing him to drink a little more.
A little boy, about three years old and dressed like a doll, stood beside them. He looked seven parts like the two brothers had when they were children.
Fu Linchuan had put a little weight on Yu Zhichun. His formerly thin, frail body had gradually taken on a different allure, like a ripe peach.
With one arm around him and his palm pressed against Yu Zhichun's waist, Fu Linchuan looked at Fu Tingxuan impassively.
"Brother," Fu Tingxuan said, staring at the happy family of three with a challenging look. "Did you know Yu Zhichun and I broke up less than four years ago?"
"I know." Fu Linchuan gently stroked the little boy's head. "Nannan, this is the other father I told you about."
Nannan glanced at Fu Tingxuan and immediately burst into tears. He turned and buried himself in Yu Zhichun's arms. "I don't want a bad person! I want Daddy, Uncle, and my little sister!"
"Nannan, be good. How could we ever not want you?" Yu Zhichun gathered him into his arms, his other hand instinctively stroking his rounded belly. "Don't cry. We would never leave you."
