Pre-release | Please add To Walk a Little Zombie Around in the Apocalypse to your reading list (wink)
Just when Bai Yao finally climbed from a nobody actor in the industry's lowest tier to one in the next-lowest tier, her company shoved her into an immersive reality show billed as having a "0.0001% completion rate."
Bai Yao was raring to go as she stepped into the show, only to see...
Arms and legs flying off during a hundred-person chase, a giant killer doll that looked like a mecha, and mangled body parts spraying out of a meat grinder. It was just like a real world.
Everyone expected this low-tier nobody to break down, scream, and run for her life.
But Bai Yao's eyes lit up. This is amazing!
Especially...
Bai Yao opened her palm to reveal a card tucked between her fingers, with the word "undercover" shining brightly on it.
Scenario One: The Skin-Stitching Community (Complete)
Undercover mission: [Use your undercover identity to win this game at any cost.]
Bai Yao looked at her mission, then at the totally unsuspecting corpse-sewer beside her. She grinned, shoved the monster's head into the meat grinder without a second thought, and smiled at the camera. "Winning is a piece of cake."
If the mission says to win at any cost, then taking out the boss is obviously the fastest way.
Scenario Two: The Demon Photography Studio (Complete)
Undercover mission: [Find a way to collect the spirits of the dead and give the camera a feast!]
Bai Yao bent down and picked up a trash can. Like a grandma feeding her chubby grandson, she stuffed blackened banana peels and rotten shoes into the camera's mouth.
Who says banana peels and rotten shoes don't have souls? If she says they do, then they do! Is that enough, kid? Want some more?
Scenario Three: The Lost Campus (Complete)
Undercover mission: [Help your teammates get more pleasure.]
Holding her livestream phone, Bai Yao looked as delicate as Lin Daiyu. "What? You suspect I'm the undercover agent?"
She passed by a group of people bullying an NPC and, still wearing her fragile expression, effortlessly knocked them all over. Then she slowly raised her phone, covered her face, and pretended to weep. "How could I be the undercover agent? What undercover agent would attack their own coworkers?"
Bai Yao's fanbase exploded, and overnight she became famous everywhere.
Aside from the stack of complaints from her coworkers in the app's backend, this show had gone perfectly, without a single hitch!
Besides, wasn't she the only undercover agent in the entire scenario? Where had these coworkers come from?
But the man at the heart of the scenario's central control room opened his eyes.
A flash of interest abruptly crossed his inorganic gaze, filled only with mechanical red light.
He leaned down elegantly and tucked a rose into the undercover agent's breast pocket.
"Hello. I'm your new coworker."
One-on-one, both leads are virgins. The female lead is all business, while the male lead is all romance.
[Pre-release blurb: To Walk a Little Zombie Around in the Apocalypse]
Everyone has a hero in their heart, someone who will one day descend from the heavens astride a rainbow cloud.
For Lin Chu, that day came a little sooner than expected...
Crash! A hole burst through the ceiling, and someone fell from the sky. No, not someone, but...
Lin Chu looked at the thing on the floor, its face covered in bulging veins and little fangs, and jumped back several yards. "Aaaah! There's a zombie!"
Little zombie Zhu Jiu: "Woof, woof, woof!"
*
When the zombie outbreak began, Lin Chu was taking a nap in a little convenience store.
Then the little thing suddenly appeared.
Just as Lin Chu was debating whether to send the little zombie away, a group of people rushed into the store and took all the supplies.
That night, a heavy snowfall began. Lin Chu clutched the zombie and shivered, her heart full of hate. She muttered in her sleep, "Kill them. Kill them all."
The next morning, Lin Chu opened her eyes to find everything in the store neatly arranged, including the corpses.
The little zombie stood nearby, shook his head, and barked twice, as if asking for praise.
When he saw Lin Chu walking over, his expression changed and he took two steps back, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes.
For the first time, he felt afraid.
He was afraid the blood on him would get on her, and even more afraid...
Afraid she would fear him.
But Lin Chu simply wiped the blood from his face with a tender smile and said, "Good job."
*
Everything was going well, except the little zombie had far too much energy. If she didn't take him out for a walk every day, he'd tear the place apart.
Lin Chu had no choice but to put a leash on him and take him out for a walk every day.
From then on, Lin Chu spent her days walking a zombie...
"Hey, hey! You can't eat stuff from the trash can. Spit it out!"
"Don't bully the other zombies!"
The little zombie bounced onto Lin Chu as if asking for a cuddle.
"Why are you licking me? No kissing!"
A jealous zombie puppy male lead who loves to act like a dog, paired with a female lead who seems delicate but is actually cunning.
Reader's guide:
1. The male lead has a double identity.
2. A sweet slice-of-life story: kill zombies and share affection every day.
3. A little melodramatic. The male lead is treated like a dog, and the female lead like his owner.
Theme: With truth in hand, I can have anything.
This time is too tight. Also, doesn't Bai have any doubts about this variety show? There are so many hot searches, but he didn't even search for it himself or ask his agent to find out?
Finished reading on 2026.3.11 It's a very short story but the plot and characters are very good ❤️ However, the scenes between the CPs are a bit small, but the heroine's story is also very interesting. The ending echoes the beginning and it feels like a closed loop is formed. It's a good short story.
"Oh Group Understand" is a big bug for the author~
🤩 I really like this book. It's so interesting and written. Great support, author.
The male protagonist's name in this chapter was written wrong in several places. It should be Chi Jin, but Chi Xiao was written instead.
Wrong sentence He must have a strange look on his face.
"It's already on the street" is a big bug for the author~ received
"It's the most important part of the mission" is a big thorn in the side of the author~ mission required
""Our store opens at ten o'clock every night and stays until five o'clock in the morning. You can come before ten o'clock." "It should be fine before ten o'clock. This is a big bug for the author~
"She complained in her heart, "Catch a big bug for the author~
