The hit game Star God launched its public beta to great fanfare. Eilena happily logged in, ready to experience life as the protagonist.
Other players were excitedly posting on the forum about starting out as dragons, elves, or insectoid queens. She, meanwhile, entered the game as an ordinary human Beta, just like in real life, with no special combat talent or bloodline.
Even her job sounded like cannon fodder: she was a [Saint], serving the pure-white Son of the Winged in their temple and growing up by his side.
If she did anything bad that compromised the Son's purity, she'd be the first one blamed and sacrificed.
This stupid game wouldn't even let her start over, so Eilena could only diligently test her talent. She soon discovered that the closer she got to a man, the more likely he was to suffer misfortune, while her own luck stat kept getting better.
Eilena cautiously set her first small goal:
Since she was here, why not try jinxing someone? The Son looked like a pretty good candidate.
She held the Son's hand, and he choked on his water.
She kissed the Son, and his holy light spell malfunctioned, flickering like a broken light bulb for the entire day.
She fooled around with the Son behind the temple curtains, and his pure-white feathers grew darker by the day... The temple's attendant knight commander found out, so she took care of the knight commander first.
She fooled around with the knight commander on a Pegasus. His skills were really useful.
The governor of the Imperial Capital came to visit. He seemed interested in arranging a marriage alliance with the temple. What a great chance to jinx someone... Why did he seem to have tentacles? Even more fun. Everyone could jinx everyone.
Jinxing a former partner to death didn't just let her inherit some of his skills and stats, it also got her his estate.
Ordinary Eilena soon became the most notorious black widow in the Imperial Capital, while also growing fabulously wealthy and gaining incredible stats.
The pure-white Son she had bewitched fell into darkness, his fate unknown. The promising general died in battle within a month of marrying her. An older governor who had agreed to marry her for the third time met with a fatal accident just after their engagement, and his family hurriedly held his funeral.
Wearing a black veil, she sobbed at the funeral, just about to pick her next target, when she was suddenly abducted by space pirates.
Eilena: Works for me.
As her fingertips touched the mercenary's metal arm, she suddenly felt several familiar gazes fixed on her.
Were those her ex-husbands? Wonderful. She could jinx them again. She hadn't collected all their skills yet.
A virtual game, featuring a very adventurous female player and a Son, an Alpha, a masked, muscular mercenary foster father, plus all kinds of tentacles, mechanical arms, and other nonhumans.
The men are strong, but the female lead is stronger. Her ability is seriously overpowered, and she's not a good person (in fact, she's pretty awful).
A work born of personal kinks, with a popular female lead and all kinds of nonhuman men in space, with plenty of unrequited crushes. Enter at your own risk if that's not your thing. The ex-husbands aren't dead; they're all part of the package.
