At twenty-five, Yan Gui quit his job and set off to pursue his dream:

traveling the world.

But before he had gone more than a few kilometers, his ex-boyfriend sideswiped his car.

His ex was a year older. Raised on an elite education, he had taken over the family business as soon as he graduated. Born into wealth, absolutely rational, a favored child of heaven, with a brilliant future ahead of him.

And yet this mature, rational man did something no one could have expected.

"I quit." His usually calm and composed ex grabbed him by the wrist. Bloodshot eyes betrayed the collapse of his carefully ordered world. "Where are you going?"

Yan Gui: "Traveling."

"I'm coming with you."

Because of the collision, Yan Gui had no choice but to turn back to Chongqing, just a few kilometers after setting out.

When he set off again in his own little runaround, there was now a large attachment in the passenger seat.

His ex offered a perfectly reasonable explanation: "It's a long journey. If you're tired of driving, I can take over. Just think of me as your driver."

Yan Gui thought, If only that were really all there was to it.

On the road,

his ex, who was supposed to be nothing more than a driver, kept asking him, "Have you been doing well lately? Did you ever think about me after we broke up?"

Yan Gui: "Driver, you're crossing a line."

His ex: "Give me a reason for the breakup."

Yan Gui: "You know as well as I do."

His ex: "Then do we still have a chance to get back together? I've missed you so much."

Yan Gui always answered coolly, "No. I don't love you anymore."

"You're lying," his ex said with certainty.

Yan Gui had no idea why his ex was so sure.

Until one day, he fainted in his arms without warning. In a haze, Yan Gui heard his ex's voice.

"You liar."

His ex had his medical report and notified the doctor right away. It was only then that Yan Gui learned that the other mascot who had been traveling with them all along was actually a hematologist.

Once again, their trip was forced to stop midway.

"What exactly are you trying to do?" Yan Gui mumbled. "Why do you keep clinging to me?"

Si Shen gently kissed his lips, cooled by illness, and smiled brightly. Looking into Yan Gui's dazzling, captivating eyes, as radiant as the sunlit flower fields of southern France in July, he said:

"Xiao Yao.

"Of course I'm going to make every flower and blade of grass in the world bear witness to our love, and have the whole world cheer for us and wish us well as we...

"Fall in love all over the world."
