The Champion Wants to Fall in Love, but the Goddess Wants Gold [Olympic Sports, Athletes]

A sweet little story about two people crossing into each other's timelines and finding their way to each other.

In 2024, Su Jinkui accompanied Wang Zhuoyang, who had twice missed his chance to compete in the Olympics, onto the Olympic stage.

At the competition in the City of Light, she witnessed the once-disheartened and dejected young man win the Olympic gold medal that countless athletes dream of, at thirty, an age when an athlete's career is nearing its end.

"A prodigy whose potential was cut short."

"A choker at major competitions."

"A home-court hero who can only dominate against his own countrymen."

As the team doctor, she knew all too well the pressure he faced as an "old" athlete.

She was happy for him, and the newly crowned champion never overlooked the contribution of a mere "medical staff member" like her.

She gazed at the gold medal before her, lost in thought.

It should have been a moment for unbridled joy and celebration, yet as she looked at the medal in her hand, another thought kept coming to mind.

[If only his last eight years had gone a little more smoothly.]

[His career should have been even more glorious.]

Su Jinkui repeated this to herself, and in the next moment, beneath the dazzling light of the gold medal, she returned to eight years earlier, to the first disappointment in the young man's career.

This time, the young man didn't fail.

She was happy for him, but this also meant that, starting over, the two of them had no reason to meet again. Still, perhaps because she had witnessed everything that happened in the future, she sincerely hoped that athletes could lead easier, smoother lives outside of training.

The very next moment, she returned to twelve years earlier, to the boy's first Olympic Games. She thought she had come to save him, only to discover that through his own hard work, he had already reached the first peak of his career.
