Seme's POV:
I'm a passerby, the kind who blends into a crowd and has no presence at all.
For years, I've had the feeling that something is wrong with this world.
Whether it's the arguments coming from the neighbors' house in the middle of the night, mixed with the sound of something round rolling along, or the crunching noises my deskmate makes while chewing things up in class, it all feels incredibly creepy.
I watch the blood-red water spraying from the fountain in the flower bed by the road and the sticky black shadows that flicker past along the roadside. I pull my hat lower, making myself even less noticeable, and walk through the whispering crowd.
I'm scared. Is there anyone else in this world who's normal, besides me? ^_^
I start looking for ordinary passersby like me: the neighbor who sings in the middle of the night, the deskmate who chews things in class, the aunties and uncles with eyes and ears everywhere. No, none of them are like me!!
I search, and search, and search...
Then I see him. He's wearing a black hat just like mine. His features are refined but sharp, and he looks like trouble. But, but...
Ah, it's been so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so long...
Since I smelled a human... ^_^
He must be an ordinary person just like me!
I hide the dark, sticky things behind my back and put on a flawless smile, greeting him with eager enthusiasm.
"My dear friend, I've finally found someone as ordinary as me!" I run toward him, eyes brimming with tears.
The beautiful yet sharp-featured man gives me a silent look, then turns and runs away...
Huh, why did he run? Shouldn't we be hugging each other and crying?
After all... we're the only two ordinary people in the world. ^_^

Uke's POV:
"The Madcap World" is a horror puzzle game. Players take on the role of an ordinary person who has wandered into a bizarre world, and the way to win is to find an exit.
When players first log in, they meet a timid, terrified companion named Lu Qi, who acts as their guide.
Of course, that's only what it seems. In truth, the timid, cowardly companion called Lu Qi is the game's ultimate boss and the source of all its strangeness.
If he learns from a player that he is a monster, he'll immediately tear off his human disguise, plunging the player into an eternal abyss.
Then the game resets from the beginning.
Zhou Wu plays the damned game five times with a blank expression and gets reset five times. He puts down his phone and lies back on his bed, deeply traumatized by Lu Qi's smiling face in the game.
Goodbye, stupid game!!!
Oh, and then he gets transported into the game, where a person runs toward him with eager enthusiasm.

"N-no... Everything's... everything's normal. Is something wrong?" Zhou Wu says, holding himself together and doing his best to ignore the sticky sensation on his body.
Twisted, sticky, dizzying tentacles coil in heaps across the ceiling, dangling down and reaching toward Zhou Wu.
"Is that so? What a... pity." ^_^
Don't doubt it: Lu Qi has always known what he is. Light a candle for Zhou Wu.
1v1, the two of them are crazy about each other, though Lu Qi has a few more tricks up his sleeve. He treats his darling very well. ^_^
I might write an octopus story after I finish this one, and an emperor story after that.
Theme: Twisted but healthy love has its own flavor.
