Logging Into a Strange World as a Professional NPC

In the year 3792, Blue Star was invaded by a higher-dimensional civilization.

Ten randomly selected players would clear eerie worlds as the entire planet watched through a global livestream.

Success would raise their home planet to a higher dimension; failure would turn it into an instance.

Ji Xiuyi had just been acknowledged by the top-tier Ji family. He was ready to play the role of the mistreated poor little real young master to the hilt when he and the fake young master, Ji Yanping, were selected together.

[Congratulations, player Ji Xiuyi! You have drawn the S-rank talent "NPC." This talent is unique and can grow stronger.]

[You dance in the shadows. Monsters see you as one of their own, and endless transformation is your nature.]

In plain language: His personal livestream would be permanently blacked out; he couldn't join any player teams; he could disguise himself as a monster; and he could draw random identity cards.

Ji Xiuyi was thrilled.

Great! He'd already been thinking that acting wasn't fun enough!

Ji Yanping entered the instance and prepared to clear it together with his eight teammates.

Wait! Why were there eight of them? Where was his drama-loving little brother?

Oh... there he was.

Every instance had one anomalous NPC.

He was capricious and absurd, sometimes speaking in riddles with a knowing air, sometimes weeping and acting like a burden, and sometimes throwing a mad tantrum only to accidentally save everyone.

Viewers around the world laughed at how he always made things worse while trying to help.

Only Ji Yanping could take no more. Eyes red, he pinned him against a corner wall at home.

"Ji Xiuyi, are you insane?"

"You infiltrate enemy territory? Throw yourself in front of attacks? Stay behind alone to hold them off?!"

"Did you ever think about what I'd do if something happened to you?!"

#The fake young master thinks he's fighting alone, while the real young master's heart races as he plays along the whole time#

Troublemaking, secretly insecure, dramatic beauty x cold outside, warm inside, overflowing with responsibility, pure-hearted loyal dog
