Hey, Don't Cry

"Why are you such a crybaby?"

"Cry again and I'll kiss you."

A sensitive, clingy crybaby bottom x a cold, aloof, secretly flirtatious top

1.

Yunzhi moved with his remarried mother into a small courtyard at a villa in Nancheng. A boy named Shen Huaijin lived alone in the house next door. He looked fierce and like someone you shouldn't mess with.

One afternoon, Yunzhi climbed a ladder to pick wild fruit from a tree. Over the wall, he saw Shen Huaijin sitting in the courtyard, looking up at him.

Nervous under that gaze, Yunzhi stammered out a greeting, his eyes growing red.

Shen Huaijin only glanced at him coolly and didn't answer.

2.

The next time Yunzhi spoke to Shen Huaijin was on a day of torrential rain.

He'd forgotten his key, and, soaked through, was sheltering from the rain beneath the narrow eaves of the villa.

The cold rain had left him feverish. His consciousness was growing hazy when he heard a door open. Then a broad umbrella appeared overhead, blocking the rain, and a cool, emotionless voice spoke beside him. "Come inside."

Yunzhi looked up and met Shen Huaijin's dark eyes. When he thanked him, his voice sounded muffled, almost like he was crying. "...Thank you."

3.

Shen Huaijin always had a cold expression whenever they met, so Yunzhi figured he probably disliked him. When he found out that Shen Huaijin had the perpetually empty desk beside him in his new transfer class, he went to the teacher and asked to change seats. He didn't want to be a nuisance.

That evening, after asking the teacher to move him, Yunzhi was stopped at the door when he got home.

"You don't want to sit with me."

Shen Huaijin seemed angry. His cool features darkened, making him look even fiercer than usual.

"Yunzhi, who do you want to sit with?"

"Hmm?"

Shen Huaijin had come from the Shen family in the capital to the remote city of Nancheng for a short stay. He'd been indifferent to everything around him, until...

A pretty, fair-skinned boy who cried a lot moved in next door. For some reason, he kept getting under Shen Huaijin's skin.

Whenever the boy looked at him with those almond-shaped eyes, usually a little red, Shen Huaijin always felt like he was about to cry.

He cried so much that Shen Huaijin wanted to shut him up with a kiss.
