After joining the Censorate, Xu Lingyue has only three things to do every day: make trouble for the Ministry of Justice, make trouble for the Court of Judicial Review, and make trouble for His Majesty.
At court, Xu Lingyue dares to confront the emperor to his face, standing firm even in the face of death. She also impeaches officials without hesitation, arguing passionately and backing up every charge with sound evidence. Once court is dismissed, she takes everything in stride, enjoying her peaceful days and minding none of it.
A little scene:
The Censorate has a new batch of recruits. As a seasoned veteran, Xu Lingyue is in charge of teaching them the ropes.
Xu Lingyue: The most important thing about joining the Censorate is to reflect on yourself three times a day.
The recruits (looking confused)
Xu Lingyue (clenching her fist): Was I too polite? Did I not scold them enough? Should I have thrown a punch?
Seeing how thoroughly they seem to have learned their lesson, Xu Lingyue feels deeply reassured that the Censorate has a bright future, and proud to have played a part in it.
