Scene:

The dreary sound of rain is cut off by a crisp slap.

It is a light blow, but the quiet room makes it ring out especially clearly.

Then comes the sound of an argument. Frowning, Tang Jingran shoves hard at the man pinning him down.

"Let go!"

In the dim room, Gong Yingxiao's dry, broad hands grip the slender, pale waist beneath him. His voice is low and husky.

"Go on. Hit me again."

"I really want to lock you up so you can't go anywhere."

Misunderstandings drive the two farther and farther apart. Dark thoughts grow in Gong Yingxiao's heart, and he wants to tie Tang Jingran up and take him home.

But when he sees the hurt in Tang Jingran's eyes, he is the first to give in, falling to his knees.

Tang Jingran: Gong Yingxiao, you haven't mopped the floor, cooked dinner, or tidied up.

Gong Yingxiao has no objections. He mops, cooks, and does the housework.

That night, Gong Yingxiao pins him beneath him and strokes his delicate waist.

Ji Yu is a handsome campus heartthrob, the walking social butterfly of A University, with enough spicy rumors about him to drown a person.

His greatest misfortune in life is attending the same university as Gu Shen, that smug, cold-faced archrival of his. He's resolved not to give that guy so much as a glance, not even if he were a dog.

Then one day, he wakes up after getting drunk and is told that Gu Shen has become his boyfriend. And that bastard Gu Shen is demanding he take responsibility?!

Ji Yu sneers. "Take responsibility? I'd rather die than do that!"

So Ji Yu takes a friend's advice and pretends to be in love with his archrival to gross him out and make him be the one to break up. This includes, but isn't limited to, kisses, cuddles, and being swept into his arms; sending long, lovey-dovey messages; blowing kisses from afar; and warming his bed when he's sick.

Everything starts out just as Ji Yu planned. Gu Shen is so disgusted he's about to throw up. But then...

Recently, Ji Yu has noticed that his archrival is acting stranger and stranger. He's starting to give in to him at every turn, and the way he looks at Ji Yu is getting increasingly peculiar. Ji Yu even wakes up in the other man's bed...

Ji Yu: ...Wait, this isn't right, is it? Wasn't I supposed to gross him out?!

And why does that bastard look like he actually believes me?!

Ji Yu: We're breaking up. Right now!

Gu Shen is a cool, brilliant student, aloof and unsociable. Getting him to say one extra word is enough to take half a person's life.

He hates people like Ji Yu, those flighty social butterflies. He doesn't even want to spare one a glance.

Then one day, Ji Yu mistakes him for a dog and kisses him. But as a model of proper conduct, Gu Shen believes that if someone kisses you, they must take responsibility, so he reluctantly becomes Ji Yu's boyfriend.

He swears that the moment Ji Yu does anything out of line, he'll end this disgusting relationship.

Ji Yu: Darling, kisses, cuddles, and being swept into your arms~

Gu Shen: Stone-faced. (Wants to throw up.)

But as the two get closer, Gu Shen starts to think he might be going crazy. When Ji Yu looks at him with those beautiful eyes, as if Gu Shen is all he can see, and calls him "darling" every other word, Gu Shen doesn't hate it. He even finds it cute.

He's already planning where they'll get married, when Ji Yu suddenly turns around and asks to break up. When Gu Shen realizes Ji Yu has been lying to him all along, he laughs in fury.

Gu Shen grits his teeth. "Fine. Very fine, Ji Yu."

Once he's got Ji Yu right where he wants him, he drops the act and turns into an obsessive, unhinged man, keeping Ji Yu firmly trapped in his arms, his eyes full of possessiveness.

Gu Shen: "We're not breaking up."

"You're the one who came after me first."

The result is that when they finally go all the way, Ji Yu nearly dies in bed.
