Scarlett has lost her job three times.
The first time, her employer's eldest son threw her out of the house, threatening to kill her if he saw her there the next day.
- Fine. It hurt a little, but her life mattered more.
The second time, someone of unknown origin wrecked most of the hotel where she had worked for less than three months. She never got paid, and the eldest son of her first employer warned her again.
- Okay. If she couldn't afford to cross him, she could at least stay out of his way, right?
The third time, she learned her lesson. Instead of sending out applications, she posted her resume online and let people contact her. Her third employer was a bit of a flake, but at least he was good-tempered and easy to talk to.
- But who could have guessed he was the Hunter Association chairman?
