[Blue Lock] His Majesty the King's Toy

Teammate 1: "Nagi, Reo might be crying in some corner right now. Are you really okay with that?"

Nagi, idly balancing a ball on his head, brought his attention back. He tilted his head, but the soccer ball stayed right where it was.

Nagi: "Reo wouldn't cry."

Teammate 1: "No, I'm pretty sure Reo's heartbroken."

Nagi: "Reo isn't that petty."

Teammate 2: "I've got a bad feeling about this... Why did you say 'petty'?"

Nagi: "Reo doesn't mind sharing his toys."

Teammate 2: "...Your relationship really is a mess."

There was no need to explain himself to anyone. He and Reo shared an understanding all their own. This was a choice Nagi had made to help Reo achieve his dream. Reo was smart, so of course he'd understand.

Nagi jolted awake from a nightmare.

Like shattered amethyst.

...But even the cracks glittered.

He'd dreamed of Mikage Reo, who was always so composed, sitting crumpled in a corner with his face covered, crying in grief and frustration because they had been separated.

NagiReo, awkward high schoolers, a classic miscommunication where they never quite connect, rose-tinted glasses so thick everything's distorted, but the feelings are unmistakable
