A courtesan and a minister of the Court of Judicial Review, both with double identities.
A love quadrangle involving just two people.
A sweet, doting romance with a groveling chase, but no angst.
After faking his death, the bottom becomes his own replacement.
Also known as: The White Moonlight Is a Black-Hearted Lotus.
A seemingly gentle and considerate courtesan at a pleasure house who is actually a ruthless, top-tier assassin bottom
A cold, aloof farmer who keeps everyone at a distance but is actually a loyal dog with a soft heart, a top and minister of the Court of Judicial Review
On a mission, Ji Qingyu, badly wounded all over, took refuge in a pleasure house.
Disguised as a blind, refined courtesan, he met Gu Zhao, a minister of the Court of Judicial Review.
Gu Zhao took a liking to the frail courtesan at first sight.
After asking around, he learned that Ji Qingyu had been alone and helpless since childhood. He'd been sold to the pleasure house and blinded after resisting.
To recover from his injuries and avoid suspicion,
Ji Qingyu looked at Gu Zhao in his fine clothes and told him a blatant lie,
claiming he was a farmer. Ji Qingyu could barely keep from laughing.
Gu Zhao bought Ji Qingyu's freedom and purchased a farmhouse.
They moved in together and began a sweet little life.
Once Ji Qingyu had recovered, he had no choice but to fake his death and escape to carry out his mission.
Overcome with grief, Gu Zhao didn't even notice how the seemingly frail Ji Qingyu, who was occasionally strong as an ox, had suddenly fallen gravely ill and died.
After losing his beloved, he decided never to marry.
The emperor arranged a marriage, but Gu Zhao refused, determined to resist even at the cost of his life.
Under pressure from his family, he had no choice but to marry.
He wed a supposedly terminally ill, lame prince.
On their wedding night, the two people who hadn't wanted to marry each other went their separate ways.
One day, Gu Nan came home to pick something up and saw a familiar figure.
He walked over in disbelief and grabbed Ji Qingyu.
He was met with a pair of cold, unfamiliar eyes.
That's right. The person he had longed for was already dead.
Ji Qingyu patted his chest. Thank goodness, thank goodness,
I'd done a good job hiding my identity!
But their habits were exactly the same, which made Gu Zhao suspicious.
So he began a thorough investigation. What he found was astonishing.
The frail, kind blind courtesan was him.
The aloof, proud, lame prince was also him.
The cold-blooded, ruthless assassin was him too.
He no longer had a sore back or a lame leg, and could even use lightness skills.
Knowing the person he loved was still alive filled Gu Zhao with excitement.
Ji Qingyu's daily inner monologue:
Haha, bet you didn't expect it. The courtesan is me.
The idle prince is still me.
And I have another hidden identity you don't know about.
Every day, Ji Qingyu puts on an energetic performance now that his identities have been exposed.
Gu Zhao keeps a blank face and plays along.
But inside, he can't stop making snarky comments.
How did I never notice before how terrible his acting was?
My partner's amazing, able to switch between so many identities.
I'm pretty good too. My acting's convincing enough!
I'm incredible.
Two people who have both discovered each other's identities stand on a stage every day.
Putting on a show day after day...
