My Faux Romance Partner Is Acting Strange

Lu Zhinan debuted at sixteen. Despite his good looks, he never got any opportunities, and after eight years in the business, he was still a nobody. In a bid to get famous, he decided to take the plunge and shoot a danmei drama.

Only after signing the contract did he learn that his love interest was his senior, Qi Yan. Qi Yan's very first drama had been a hit, and Lu Zhinan couldn't understand why he would want to act in a danmei series.

Especially since Qi Yan was so aloof. He had never linked himself to anyone for publicity or interacted with co-stars while filming before. Could someone like that really sell a romance pairing?

After the show aired, Qi Yan was even more professional than him. He acted cold and distant in public, but in front of Lu Zhinan, he showed his gentle, mature top side. The fans praised him for being a model top.

Lu Zhinan thought Qi Yan was taking his job too seriously, and wondered if he'd secretly studied a guide to selling a romance pairing. He needed to put more effort into promoting their pairing, too.

Qi Yan: "If you promote our pairing, won't your boyfriend get jealous when he sees it?"

Lu Zhinan's boyfriend was also an actor. Although they were together, he was extremely careful to keep their relationship secret. They even had to be cautious when chatting. Lu Zhinan wasn't allowed to call him by name, and had to use an alternate account. Their relationship was less intimate than Lu Zhinan's staged romance with his senior.

Lu Zhinan couldn't understand how Qi Yan knew he had a boyfriend. Then, before long, his boyfriend was exposed for cheating, having rented a room with someone else.

Lu Zhinan was stunned. When the guy was with him, he wouldn't even let him hold his hand, but he'd gone all the way with someone else.

What Lu Zhinan didn't know was that Qi Yan had sent someone to seduce his boyfriend behind the scenes. The man had taken the bait immediately, saving Qi Yan a lot of trouble.

After his breakup, Lu Zhinan decided to focus on his career. Qi Yan looked after him at every turn and constantly flirted with him, but Lu Zhinan not only failed to pick up on the signals, he became determined to outdo him. Every time Qi Yan said something sweet, he would exclaim in shock, "You're really going all out! No wonder you're a senior."

Right up until Qi Yan went inside, Lu Zhinan thought he was just acting.
